Many young men and women, who are athletically inclined, do not appreciate the value of proper physical training for the purpose of making themselves better athletes. I know good ball players who were prevented from going very high up because they lacked the shoulder power behind their hits; others whose possession of a weak throwing arm killed their chances, even though they were fast and accurate in the field and good hitters. There are still others who were held back by the lack of bodily weight and size; others, because they didn’t have the strength to stand the hot pace of everyday-ball.
