I know a professional man whose work just now is in great demand, but who, unfortunately, was born with a very delicate constitution. It seems that there has not been much strength in the family, and inasmuch as several of his brothers and sisters died young, my friend seems to have been fortunate in having had sufficient strength to bold out until middle life. Having now achieved a brilliant success, but having by very hard work overtaxed his vital resources to achieve it, he finds himself in a situation in which he could earn fifty thousand dollars a year, which is roughly ten times as much as he was earning a few years ago. “If only I had the strength, I could do it,” he says.
