Jeffries, Dempseu, and Fitzsimmons – Strength Magazine – September, 1928

Shakespeare said that “comparisons are odious;” but they are very interesting. No I can’t say that they are always safe-not in the comparison of boxers, because I almost got my head knocked off once by a defender of old John L. Sullivan, when I insisted that he couldn’t have lasted four rounds with Jim Jeffries or Jack Dempsey. At long range, though, through the medium of this magazine, we can argue a bit without doing each other any physical damage.
