Louis Pryssing, of Racine, Wisconsin, is one of the hosts of amateurs who have derived great benefits from the use of bar-bells. Like so many others, he has always been more or less interested in physical culture, but found the various systems of light exercise unproductive of real results and exceedingly tiresome and lacking in interest on account of the increasing number of repetitions necessary.
