Taken from the April 1930 issue of Strength Magazine, this vintage strength training advertisement is for a “big booklet” published by a Philadelphia strongman named Charles MacMahon. “Get this booklet and join these he-men,” MacMahon encouraged readers. “I want to show you what I can do for that weak body of yours.”
MacMahon was a regular strongman performer in the early 20th century and an endorser of the Milo Barbell Co. He wrote a book called How to Perform Feats of Strength and Dexterity in 1927.
