Pie Desserts for the Coming Hot Wave PIE and ke cream, ice cream and pie; noon or night, hot or cold, it’s pie through the week and Ice cream on Sunday-the great American dessert. Ask any restaurant manager which he sells most, and he will probably say “both” or words to that effect. In the home the children generally manage one way or another to get a nickel out of some one of their elders for an ice cream cone at least once every day; and as the hot days arrive mother becomes more and more inclined to omit the traditional pie and send Johnny to the corner for a quart of ice cream after dinner instead.
