The Mat – Strength Magazine – August, 1926

As a general rule the body builder who has the hardest time to show any muscular display, is the one who is inclined to be corpulent. To that person the layers of fat seem as obstinate to remove as the calf muscles are to develop for the majority of leg builders. Often an exercise fan, who has worked hard for abdominal development, is not nearly as badly off as he thinks. Under the layer of fat he has a fine set of muscles, and all he has to do is work out more often with a little more persistence.
