All-round physical training has been my hobby since boyhood, and the thing which has impressed me most of all about these various kinds of sports and exercises is that the underlying principles of perfect physical action are very similar in all of them. Physical education is: learning to use one’s muscles, controlled by the brain, to the greatest advantage, in order to accomplish the end in view. This may involve a single supreme effort or a moderate effort continued over a space of time and calling for great endurance.
