The Strength of the Blind – Strength Magazine – July, 1925

This article is not designed to relieve “seeing” persons of their responsibility to the blind. It is simply designed to change their thought of him from one of pity, the most degrading thing in the world, to one of constructive helpfulness. To be sure he is handicapped by the loss of eyesight, we mustn’t forget that. But to help him overcome his handicap for his own sake as well as for the sake of the public at large, we must treat him as a valuable asset, not as a liability, for he is an asset, make no mistake about that.
