The Rogue Axle - Powdercoated

The Rogue Axle - Single Powdercoated

Rogue Axle

Deceptively Simple Grip Training

A collaborative effort between the Rogue team and Rob Orlando of Hybrid Athletics, the powder-coated, 1.9” diameter Rogue Axle offers athletes an effective change of pace for any lifting regimen, promoting greater wrist and grip strength. The bar measures 7 feet (2.13 meters) in total length, with 15.5” of loadable sleeve length and 52” between the collars.

From presses to rows to deadlifts, the Axle makes for a more challenging but ultimately more beneficial workout, emphasizing the muscles in the hands in a way standard bars can’t. It’s the same principles that have made fat bars an essential part of the modern Strongman training arsenal. A more compact 5’ version of this bar, the Stubby Axle, is also available.

IMPORTANT: Some standard barbell collars may not work on this specialty bar. We recommend using either the Rogue HG Axle Collars or the OSO Axle Collars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Axle! I don't know if Rogue has fixed the powder coating issue some people seem to be having, or if I got a good one, but this thing is great! I've used it a bunch, with no chipping in the powder coat. I am not gentle with it either. It's been dropped and racked. No issues. It's a solid piece of equipment. Love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid bar. Versitile and fun to use I bought this bar about a month ago and have been using it consistently for accessory work ever since. The bar is gorgeous. (Like others), I really love the Rogue sticker on the middle of the bar but wish it was better applied. Racking this into the J hooks of my rack has caused some light chipping of the powder coating but the bar still looks good. I use this for overhead presses, incline bench, a variety of rows and deadlift variations. I think for the cost, you can't beat it. Makes a great addition to any garage gym.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sweet gains but... The powder coating on the sleeves began chipping off first day unfortunately so I wont be racking this bar on J hooks and risk losing snatch grip. This is a ground bar only! Also disappointing that the rogue sticker peeled off; I was looking forward to the ROGUE name blessing my gym. Still a great bar with no signs or bending or breaking anytime soon, and I'm excited for awesome grip gains.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bar w/ trivial issues Great bar and great price. Arrived with Rogue label halfway on and crooked, I couldn't fix it and had to remove it which sucks because I like the label. Powder coating could be a bit tougher, it immediately chipped on first use. Trivial issues though. Also BUY COLLARS.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stiff and functional, finish is lacking I've used this for deadlifts, bench press and overhead press for weight up to 300lb without issue - there's no deflection whatsoever, the bar is rock solid. However, the coating chipped off in the j-hooks on the first usage, and is down to bare metal at all points that have touched a j-hook. The sleeves are likewise pretty bare from plates chipping off the finishing (5 months of use). And since the sleeves are a non standard size, plates slip around on them all the time. If the coating were durable, the collars were a standard width instead of smaller than standard, and the bar had standard width markers, it would be perfect. Of course - the price is excellent, and the value for the cost is certainly there!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Bar, Could Be Great Bar The bar holds a lot of weight without any bend or warp. It hold up to repeated drops with heavy weight without any issues. The only issue I have is after a few uses the paint begins to flake off on the collars. I emailed Rogue and they said they were looking into fixing this issue, but my only concern is any eventual rusting. Also, the Rogue brand is glued/stuck to the middle and after a few axle cleans is starting to come off, maybe this should be painted on in the future.
