Marrs-Bar

The Marrs-Bar represents a new breed of safety squat bar, designed to limit the axial load on the neck and back and reduce direct stress on the spine, shoulders, hips, and knees. Available in two models / size options, this unique specialty bar is great for athletes rehabbing from an injury or dealing with limited mobility, but it’s equally effective for helping healthy lifters improve their comfort and stability, leading to greater gains and fewer injuries.

Weight is redistributed through the Marrs-Bar’s built-in harness padding, meaning it won’t sit on or pinch the neck and cervical spine. Instead, athletes are able to load more weight and focus on their form during hands-free back squats, front squats, lunges, good-mornings, and more.

The Marrs-Bar and Marrs-Bar 2.0 are each manufactured in the USA and include a black powdercoat finish with chrome sleeves, and a high-density memory foam harness pad. The 2.0 version uses 1.5" round tubing whereas the original Marrs-Bar uses solid round bar.

Love It
I love the Marr’s Bar. As someone who’s had a spinal fusion, my confidence and range of motion during normal squats is not the best. This bar feels so much better and allows me to squat lower without discomfort.

Working Well for Me.
So far, so good. Very helpful as I have a cervical fusion. I have been using a linebacker (wishbone) Landmine as an alternative to other SS bars and or straight bar. The Marrs-Bar is well designed and I am enjoying using it. I am 73 and using it reminds me of my old collegiate football training. A long time ago.

Great bar, poor quality, worse customer service
I love the bar, it does what it says it will. However the manufacturer's customer service and warranty are terrible. I had the bar less than six months and the padding was already splitting, see the photos, mind you I've been the only one to use it, and it was splitting after fewer than 10 sessions. Contacted Rogue, who contacted the manufacturer, who claims this is normal wear and tear, and will send a vinyl cover (no eta, so who knows if they will) instead of sending me a new bar. The original was padding with a vinyl cover before they went to this configuration and clearly they neglected to run it through quality testing. I won't be buying anything from them again.
Crack in the padding after less than 10 sessions
Close up of the crack that the manufacturer calls wear and tear after less than 10 sessions in 6 months.

We're sorry to see the issues with your Marrs Bar's pad and understand your frustration. We are still actively working to get you a replacement pad that will resolve this now as well as down the road.

I was having shoulder problems and squatting was difficult. The Marrs bar was the solution, squatting is enjoyable again and with this bar I can front squat again too.

Not bad, but not great
Finally got the bar assembled (after the sleeves did not ship with the original package, and had to be sent a couple of weeks later). It came a bit beat up (plastic handles both cracked, some nicks and dings), but it’s workout gear and will get hacked up. More importantly: sleeves are just connected with a hex bolt, and do not rotate freely like an Olympic bar. Maybe this doesn’t matter as you’ll only be doing squats, but this wasn’t immediately obvious to me before I bought it. I would have much preferred it ship with the sleeves securely and industrially attached. The bar feels “ok” on your back. I personally didn’t feel like I could squat without holding onto the handles (as many videos show folks doing)—it felt like it would rotate off my back unless I hinged forward deeper than I normally would for a squat. Overall, I got this because of an injured shoulder and I think it will help keep squatting more safely than with the janky strap setup I had been using on a normal barbell, but I am not sure I’d buy this bar again.
