Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar - Stainless Steel

The Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar is fully machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, using 205K PSI tensile strength steel (200K PSI for Stainless). Approved for competition by the International Powerlifting Federation, this 29MM diameter bar includes single powerlifting knurl marks and a center knurl, with the same deep, coarse (but not overly sharp) knurl pattern as our 45LB Ohio Power Bar. The 20KG bar does have a greater loadable sleeve length than the 45LB bar (16.875” vs. 16.25”). This is a result of the slightly smaller width of the collars.

One of the key factors that sets the 20KG Ohio Power Bar apart from other powerlifting barbells in the industry is its friction welded sleeves. A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

The 20KG Rogue Ohio Power Bar includes bronze bushings, a snap ring design, and a Stainless Steel shaft with Chrome sleeves.

Note on Stainless Steel: Barbells made from raw steel are not plated and therefore marks from the machining process may be visible.

Key Features of the Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar

  • 1200,000 PSI Steel (200,000 PSI for Stainless)

The Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 200,000 PSI, delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel. IPF approved for competition.

  • 2Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

  • 3Friction Welded Sleeves

A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

  • 4Use It With These Other Rogue Products

Ohio Power Bar owners can use this barbell in conjunction with a broad range of other top caliber Rogue powerlifting products, from the Westside Bench and R-3 Power Rack to deadlift bar jacks, Wagon Wheel plates, and Calibrated Steel Plates.

  • 5Two Finish Options

The 20KG version of the Ohio Power Bar is available in your choice of two quality finishes. The Black Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the new Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) creates the look and natural feel of bare steel with less upkeep required.

F Scale™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

Oxidation Rate
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar - Stainless Steel is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally found the one Just got my boneyard stainless 20kg OPB last week. I've used it for every major lift now with reasonably heavy weights (for me) and I'm in love. The thin collars are the best feature I didn't know I needed. With my Infinity rack, they pose no issues racking like others have mentioned. I can only pull/squat mid 400s and have thin rubber coated plates so the longer sleeves mean nothing to me. But I have a B&R 2.0 bar that's also 29mm and the whole reason I bought this is because I prefer pulling with stiffer bars -- and the thinner collars make a noticeable difference even with just 4 plates, even over the B&R. I had already moved from hook grip to straps for volume pulls so the aggressive knurl just means my top sets are now switch grip instead of hook, and most of my pulling is still comfortable on this bar. It's also the ideal bar for squats as most people already know. The more aggressive knurl makes a noticeable difference. The B&R 2.0 bar didn't slip or anything, but I like the feeling of the more aggressive knurl -- feels more secure and gives me more confidence, which can only help. Honestly I took a risk with this. I hedged my risk by going boneyard -- but it paid off big. I was worried the knurl would be too aggressive but it's perfect. Leaves a cool imprint on my hands and doesn't tear them up at all. That might be because I'm not strong enough (yet) but time will tell. Also thanks Rogue for giving me $100 off for a finish blemish it took me 3 workouts to find! Oh and last nice surprise. The sleeves have the least play of any Rogue bar I've owned. I've had a boneyard Ohio, and still own a B&R 2.0 and boneyard weightlifting bar. The boneyard Ohio clanged like crazy (one of the reasons I sold it) but this one is almost silent with bumpers. So I bought this for squats but will keep it (and hand it down to my sons) for deadlifts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best powerlifting bar I’ve used. This powerlifting bar is awesome the knurling is perfect. Is a powerlifters bar so yes if you have never experienced such a thing it will feel different but I see no fault on this bar. I think is been three months or so NO REGRET

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted, with one small limitation I was honestly a little scared to get this barbell given how much the aggressive knurl has been talked up and figured that it was something that I would use more down the road when I was lifting heavier. I was pleasantly surprised to find that, while the knurl is significantly more aggressive than my Ohio bar, the volcano shape and lack of sharp points keep it from actually cutting into my hands. That also goes for the center knurl, which is cut exactly the same as the rest of the bar. I didn't find it uncomfortable squatting high bar with a shirt on, but it could be an issue for others. While it's not my go-to bar for pressing motions, I found that it was far more comfortable in those lifts than I had expected and served me well through a whole body session. The one limitation is the narrow collars on the sleeves. This has the upside of giving more space on the sleeves, which can be a big plus if you're lifting heavy and using wider bumper plates. But it also means that you have to be more careful about your bar path if you're using a wider rack. Overall I'm really happy with this bar and look forward to doing bigger lifts with it in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bar I had been waiting for a stainless OPB to come in stock and picked up this when it was available, I was more or less indifferent between 45lb and 20kg and the 20kg came up as available. I live in humid FL and use a garage gym so did not want bare steel as I worry about rust and am too lazy to oil a bar, but wanted the bare feel. I was a little worried knurling would be too aggressive but it's perfect, very grippy but does not tear up my hands at all, I would not call it sharp. There are some minor cosmetic blemishes on the non-knurled portion of the shaft, not sure if this was from the machining process or packaging/shipping or what, but honestly I don't really care I bought this to lift not look pretty. I would buy the same bar again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good Bar with slight quality issues Excellent Barbell, one of the best knurling options out there. However, for the money there are a few nitpics worth noting: The sleeves fit rather loosely and make after every full turn a click noise, the packaging is not great as well as the UPS Shipping.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wish it was full stainless This is my second OPB; my first was a 45lb bare steel which felt awesome, but I wanted something more forgiving if I forgot to wipe it down so I picked up the stainless 20kg version. Like Rogue warns, the stainless model does show manufacturing marks, so if not having an impeccable finish bothers you, choose a different model like zinc or cerakote. One of the biggest difference I am noticing with the 20kg vs the 45lb is that the collars are smaller on the 20kg, and I have to be careful with my walkout during squats or my plates will hit the uprights on my Monster Lite rack. Other than that, it's a solid bar, but I wish Rogue offered full stainless power bars again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work of art Perfect in almost every way. I say almost, because the sleeves are hard chromed rather than stainless - time will tell how they hold up. But the barbell? The barbell is beautiful. I’ve never felt anything like it in my hands and a different feel to the zinc version. Customer service and delivery were top notch. Couldn’t be happier

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very solid There are so many bar choices that Rogue offers I was a bit confused but figured I couldnt go wrong with this one which so far is definitely true. Its stiff, knurling is aggressive but perfect in my opinion, doesnt move when back squatting. If this was at my commercial gym i would go to it every time. I guess people would prefer the stainless to have stainless sleeves also but im not sure i would really know the difference if they were or not...
