Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar - E-Coat

Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar - E-Coat

This version of the Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar introduces a new Black E-Coat shaft finish. First popularized in the auto industry for its reliable coverage, adhesion, and corrosion resistance, this electrically applied coating has gained even wider favor for its environmental benefits, producing little to no HAPS (Hazardous Air Pollutants) or VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).

Like the Ohio Deadlift Bar, the E-Coat Ohio Deadlift Bar is machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, and precision-engineered for the needs of the competitive deadlifter. The bar’s 190 KSI steel shaft is designed with a comparatively thin diameter (27mm) and longer overall length (90.5” – just within most powerlifting federation standards). This combination creates a power bar that is both easier to grip and better equipped for producing superior whip/flex when pulling. For many powerlifters, that greater flex means being able to pull from a higher point before the plates break off the floor, potentially increasing the amount of weight that can be lifted in the process.

The E-Coat Ohio Deadlift Bar’s bright zinc sleeves feature a quality snap ring construction—far superior to the cheaply produced bolt-and-pin style sleeves of some other brands. The powerlifting knurl marks on this bar are a bit deeper / more aggressive than our Standard Rogue Ohio Power Bar, but machined in the same pattern. There is no center knurl.

What Sets the E-Coat Ohio Deadlift Bar Apart:

  • 1New E-Coat Finish

The black electrocoat, or E-Coat shaft finish on this version of the Ohio Deadlift Bar is an electrically-applied paint coating noted for its excellent corrosion resistance, cost efficiency, and green benefits. It has been widely adopted by leading manufacturers for the finishing of auto parts, metal stampings, fasteners, lawn/garden & agricultural equipment, military equipment, and much more. E-Coat finishes stand up to water, sunlight, and household chemicals, and they are compliant with the environmental safety standards of the RoHS, OSHA and EPA. All E-Coat Ohio Deadlift Bars also include Bright Zinc sleeves.

  • 2190 PSI Steel Shaft - Specialized for Deadlifts

This steel used for the Ohio Deadlift Bar is manufactured in the US and has proven to be one of the best steel variants for a competition power bar. Each barbell shaft is ground and polished prior to machining, enabling a consistent smooth surface. With this design, we also created a shaft with a thinner diameter (27mm) and longer length (90.5”), optimizing the bar’s flex/whip for high-performance deadlifts.

  • 3Machining & Assembly

Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus, Ohio, with painstaking attention to detail. A snap ring construction and quality bronze bushings ensure a smooth, consistent performance. The powerlifting knurl marks are a bit deeper / more aggressive than our Ohio Power Bar, but machined in the same pattern. There is no center knurl.

F Scale™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

Oxidation Rate
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rogue Ohio Deadlift Bar - E-Coat is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 78.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for heavy deadlifts I rewarded myself with this bar after breaking the five hundred pound mark. It takes about that much to appreciate the whip the bar offers. A feeling I really like. I was worried about the knurl being to aggressive but it's perfect. It's a lot more serious than the knurl on the Ohio bar. But it grips the hand so well. And the smaller diameter does make hook grip a tad more tolerable. This bar is an excellent tool for the serious deadlifter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great addition to my gym I've had it a little while now and really like it. I found using 45# bumper plates for the 1st 2 or 3 plates you slide onto the sleeve helps get more weight on the outer most part of the bar helping it to bend more. I don't really notice the bending until I have #405 on the bar. If you're not there yet I don't think you will get much of a benefit from using this bar as opposed to say an Ohio Power Bar. The only change I would have made would be to buy the raw version to take advantage of the sharper feeling knurl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feature! I bought this bar a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it. I love the grip on the bar and it's pretty stiff just with a minimum flex.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great DL Bar I’ve used this bar for about 2 weeks. Overall love the length and its ability to hold lots of plates. My one concern with this bar is how aggressive the knurling is and how narrow the bar is versus say the Ohio Power Bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Deadlift Bar I ordered this in June for our home gym when we were moving back from overseas. I’d used a deadlift bar at the gym we belonged to (I believe it was an Eleiko as all the bars in the gym seemed to be but not sure). Reading some of the reviews about over aggressive knurling on this bar had me a little concerned but I figured I’d get used to it. I deadlift every 3 days cycling a heavy/light session and I love this bar. I don’t have overly calloused hands and have had zero issues with it. Having said that, I do wear sweatpants when doing sumo stance as I’m sure it would take a nice chunk out of my shins. Bar arrived with iron filings(?) that would come off on my hands but a stiff nylon brush got rid of it easily. Thank you to the rogue customer service team as I ordered this as part of a larger order and they were incredibly helpful. Also thank you to garagegymreviews and Brandon Campbell Diamond for all their super-helpful reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Electric tools Bought it and love it, however; I had to use power tools to get it out of the packaging, too well packaged.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home gym approved I bought this bar after deciding I wanted to invest in a deadlift bar for home use rather than going to a gym. I miss the gym, however, being a single father and limited time/money the gym does not fit into my life right now. The decision to invest in this bar is hands down the best money I have ever spent. Thank you Rogue Fitness and thank you to whoever/whatever crafted this brilliant bar. Thank you for helping me get back to what I love doing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Pleased I am so pleased with this bar. It looks really cool and the knurl lets you get a good grip on the bar without it shredding your hands. It just really has a nice feel to it when you pull. I added some blue electrical tape on the collars, since there are several others at the gym, who have this same bar
