Rogue LB Change Plates

Rogue LB Change Plates are sold in pairs or full sets, and include 1.25LB, 2.5LB, 5LB, and 10LB weight increments. Each plate features a 50.40MM collar opening and an exterior rubber coating for a firm, steady hold on any standard Olympic barbell. A color coding (Green/Blue/White) and quality matte finish give the plates a bold look, with easy recognition from a distance.

For serious lifters, incremental loading with change plates can mean the difference between matching an old PR or setting a new one. To order Rogue LB Change Plates as a pair, standard set, or custom package, see the column on the right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect!!! Excellent! Rogue's quality is unmatched! Aside from their implied use, I also use these for loadable dumbbells, as opposed to the dumbbell bumpers. For the DB-15 w/OSO collars you can us the following breakdown of plates to substitute in place of 15-105LB dumbbell set in 5LB increments, with everything (including the OSO collars) fitting within the loadable space: 8 x 10LB pairs 2 x 5LB pairs 2 x 2.5LB pairs Expensive, yes, but still cheaper than a set of Powerblocks and obviously cheaper, not to mention way more space efficient, than a dumbbell set satisfying the same range. You could also go with an additional pair of 10LB (5 x 10LB pairs, rather than 8) to get to 15-115LB range with the the 110LB weight being the only combination that slightly overlapping the loadable space with the OSO collar attached. If you wanted 2.5LB increments you could add 2 of the 1.25LB pairs to achieve this. I hope this helps some of you out there debating how to maximize your options!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the extra money Great plates. Minimal sliding once they are on the bar. Worth the extra money. Get dirty pretty easily, but that’s the price you pay when you clang and bang.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential piece of gym equipment. These change plates are perfect, easy to slide on and off and rubber coated to stay in place outside of the collars. Absolutely necessary addition to the gym, one of the best pieces of gear I didn’t know I needed. I was only able to get the 2.5lb plates but will get 1.25lb and 5lb variants as soon as they are available. The 2.5lb plates are arguably the most useful, allowing for 5lb adjustments on the barbell. I love these things, great job Rogue!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Won’t scratch your sleeves! Got these after some cast iron change plates scratched and dented my sleeves. Haven’t had any scratches or dents, since. Snug, rubbery, no rattle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommend for Olympic Lifters These plates are pretty pricey, however I decided to get them (5lbs and 2.5lbs) as they are rubber coated all over including the inner ring. As an Oly lifter, I frequently drop the weight from overhead and I want to preserve the quality of my plates and barbell as much as possible. Before purchasing these plates, I was contemplating buying change plates from Rogue’s iron plate sets as they are much cheaper but was worried that after frequent usage and drops they would crack, damage my barbell sleeves, and damage adjacent plates. Not to mention, dropping a barbell with iron change plates would probably create a lot of noise (I work out in my garage in a quiet neighborhood). The rubber-coated change plates have proven themselves to be very quiet every time I dropped the barbell from overhead. Due to the rubberized/urethane-coated inner ring of these change plates, there is a decent amount of friction while sliding them onto the barbell sleeve but not a lot of resistance where you’d have to use two hands and break a sweat just trying to get them on. I can just wiggle and slide them on with one hand no problem. They do hold onto the sleeve pretty well without collars if you’re the kind of Oly lifter who doesn’t use sleeve collars on certain sets. These plates do have a slight fresh rubber smell to them when you first pull them out of the box but you can only really smell it if you hold them up to your nose. I don’t know about you guys but I kinda like the smell of fresh rubber-coated plates. I take a few good whiffs of my plates between sets like how a power lifter takes a whiff of ammonia before each time they try out a 1RM or heavy set. Anyways, I do recommend these plates for Oly lifters who frequently drop the barbell and want to prevent as much damage on their barbell and plates as they possibly can. If you’re someone who does lifts with less/little impact (bench, squat, deadlift, etc.), you probably don’t need these rubber change plates and instead can go with the cheaper iron plate options while not having to worry about damaging anything... unless you’re the kind of deadlifter who frequently drops and slams the barbell onto the floor. You do you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can't complain Nothing wrong with these plates, they're simple and accurate. I find them a bit sticky coming on and off the bar, it'd be nice if the center was metal or otherwise addressed the ease on and off the bar.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent plates, rubber coating bit thin, one sided Decent plates but you should know it’s one sided (other side is completely flat with no markings) which differs from other change plates I have. That’s cosmetic though. The rubber coating also seems thinner than other plates. Mine came with some cracks already but in this climate of low supply I’ll just have to deal with it.
