Key Features of This Ohio Bar:

  • 1New 190,000 PSI Steel

This steel is manufactured in the US and has proven to be one of the best steel variants for a multi-purpose barbell. Each barbell shaft is ground and polished prior to machining which allows the bar to have a very smooth finish post any black oxide or black zinc finish.

  • 2Machining

Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus, Ohio. A great deal of pride is built into each bar as the knurling process is an art. We spent months working on the knurl we believe to be the best for the Ohio Bar. To test the knurl it is more a beer tasting process than exact measurement. There is a look and feel that go into testing every bar.

  • 3Fit and Finish

Each Ohio Bar finish offers a different level of oxidization protection and has a direct effect on the feel of the knurl.

Black Oxide is a mild oxidization protectant process. This type of steel treatment will still require some maintenance but will give the best knurl feel, more like a naked bar.

Zinc is a medium oxidization protectant process. This type of steel treatment requires minimal maintenance and is used on The Rogue and Bella Bars.

The Ohio Bar is also available in Stainless Steel & an advanced ceramic-based coating called Cerakote.

  • 4Assembly

The Ohio Bar is assembled with bronze bushings which act as bearing surfaces between the bar sleeve and bar shaft. This is a very robust way of building a barbell. Each bar will come with an Ohio Bar card that has the initials of the Rogue team member that built the bar.

  • 5Performance

This bar will have normal “whip” during Olympic weightlifting and enough stiffness to hold for heavy powerlifting. The steel in this bar is proven as an excellent choice for weightlifters.

  • 6Fast Rogue Shipping

Rogue prides itself on fast, professional shipping. If your bar is ordered by 3PM EST Monday-Friday, it will ship same day. Your bar will be packaged safely and ship fast. You can follow the progress of your order using the Rogue Shipping Tracker.

F Scale™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

Oxidation Rate
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Whichever barbell finish you choose, Rogue has provided some helpful tips for long term Bar Care & Maintenance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magic knurl No matter what I do with this bar, the knurl is perfect. It's super grippy without causing pain or digging in too much. I will say the cerakote rubs off super easily on the sleeves (I got red with black sleeves), no matter how careful you are. Unless you have a bunch of Echo bumpers with their super smooth chrome insides, this won't stay black. Additionally, I made sure to buy sandwich j-hooks to protect the red cerakote, and I do notice a tiny bit of red residue on the plastic of the j-hooks, so I don't think cerakote is for you if you want a perfect finish that is also durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Bar is great weight balance and length. Only problem is ends black coating scratched easily. But overall function is fantastic great purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous, sturdy, inspiring. It’s greet, but I don’t get to use it much since my son and his friends always use it! The shine and rich knurling are so tough, fine, and cool... The bar just makes your work with it seem more quality. Needs to be displayed in gym to brag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ohio bar I don’t have much to compare too, but the bar is great. Feels like a good heavy bar like the ones at my old gym. Doesn’t have any cons that I read about on other cheaper bars. Def a great bar for my new home workout station!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bar Loved the feel of this bar from the first time I used it, great for Olympic lifting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great barbell for general use I bought this like 2 months ago, have using this for CrossFit training and so happy.
Date published: 2021-02-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done It's a good bar and gets the job done. I deducted one star because after two months of use, four workouts per week, the Zinc coating is starting to wear away on my bar where it rests on my weight rack.
