CERAKOTE OHIO BAR - SPECIAL PINK EDITION

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Rogue has introduced this limited edition Pink Cerakote version of our flagship Ohio Bar. Proceeds will be donated to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Rogue is pleased to offer a Pink Cerakote version of the Women’s Bella Bar, as well.

At The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC – James), world-renowned experts tirelessly pursue a vision of a cancer-free world. The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research is critical to that vision. By supporting research, drug development and innovative therapies, the fund, through philanthropic support, is transforming the way breast cancer is prevented, detected and treated.

Like the other colorways of our new Cerakote Ohio Bar, the Pink Special Edition utilizes a unique polymer-ceramic composite coating—popularized in the gun industry for its durability in thin applications. This particular design features a pink cerakote shaft, proprietary matte black sleeves, and a black Rogue logo on the center of the bar shaft.

Fully machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, all versions of the Ohio Bar continue to represent the highest level of precision engineering, with a 190,000 PSI tensile strength shaft, dual knurl marks, quality composite bushings, and a lifetime warranty against bending.* A barbell that has always delivered multi-purpose versatility and dependable performance now also offers athletes the chance to make a statement and raise funds for a worthy cause.

"Continue to fight. Continue to live." - Stefanie Spielman

CERAKOTE STRENGTH

This version of the Ohio Bar is distinct for its use of Cerakote, an advanced ceramic-based coating, originally established in the gun industry for its durability in thin applications. This unique finish can deliver superb abrasion/wear/corrosion resistance over time—100X that of standard black zinc—and it’s available here in pink with the Rogue logo branded on the center of the shaft in black.

190 KSI STEEL

The quality steel used in the Ohio Bar is manufactured in the US and has proven to be one of the best steel variants for a multi-purpose barbell. Each barbell shaft is ground and polished prior to machining which allows the bar to have a very smooth finish.

MACHINING & ASSEMBLY

Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus, Ohio, with painstaking attention to detail. The knurling has been carefully refined over the years for a firm but non-abrasive grip (there is no center knurl). We also assemble this version of the Ohio Bar with special composite bushings—a self-lubricating material often found in hi-tech aerospace equipment and military vehicles. For intense, high-rep training, these bushings dramatically minimize friction to provide a reliable spin. The final result is a bar that produces normal “whip” during Oly weightlifting with enough rigidity to hold for heavy powerlifting.

F SCALE™

The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

OXIDATION RATE

The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

Please Note: Cerakote has an excellent resistance to corrosion, but metal-to-metal contact, particular on the sleeves, can still cause wear over time. For the best long term results, some cleaning and maintenance may be required. See our Ohio Bar Care Page for more info.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Fraser Ohio bar
One the best bars/equipment I bought. I love the color and how it feels. I do wish for a more aggressive knurling.

$400 Coated Bar being Ground away
Let me start off with, I have rogue pretty much everything. Rack, Weights, Bella Bar for the wife, etc I bought this bar a week ago, to replace a different brand that rusted over. I was excited to get this bar, because I know the quality that I normally get. The problem is the coating on the ends where the plates slide on and off. I don't know if they added too much or the bar itself is out of spec, but I can barely put on or take off a ROGUE BRAND RUBBER PLATE. The point of the coating was so I didn't have another rusted bar, but its just grinding on and off every time I put on weight. So what was the point of paying this much for a defective bar, that already has it coating ruined? The woman's bar that I have has the same black oxide coating for the ends and I have zero issues with that one. I am attaching a picture. very disappointed overall with this purchase

Thank you for posting! Our Proprietary Matte Black metal treatment process also hardens the steel, which can cause some additional friction with plates that have a chamfer. These sleeves should be able to be wiped down with no issue. Our team is reaching out now to confirm.

Cerakote not worth it
When I received this bar the packaging was badly damaged, like the bar could slide right out of the tube. The coating was damaged upon arrival but it is functionally good. The bar has really good knurling and spin.

Well made, high quality barbell
Just wanted to throw in my 5 stars for this barbell. I got the blue cerakote and it has held up very well over the last 3 years. I didn’t know much about gym equipment at the time and a Rogue employee recommended I get the regular Ohio bar. He was right. This all around bar is good for bench/shoulder pressing, squats, and deadlifts. The knurling is just right for me without chalk, but I don’t lift heavy. I like how there is no knurling in the middle so that I can comfortably do front squats and shoulder press (in case I accidentally brush my chin). All in all, I highly recommend this bar.

The Best There Is
Debated on spending $350+ on a barbell for my garage gym but I'm so glad I did. I've lifted with dozens of different types of barbells and this isn't even close. The knurling is insane and I still haven't even used chalk after a week cleaning, snatching, etc. I've seen a few reviews complaining about the plates not sliding on and off easily, I don't mean to be sarcastic or rude but that's kinda the point. Even without clips the plates don't run far when lifting. If your goal is high volume and heavy lifts then this is the bar for you. Also all black is mean looking.

Wish the knurling was more aggressive
I purchased this Fraser bar about a year ago and it does everything I need it to do. I just wish the knurling was more aggressive.

Functional Bar; Poor Cerakote Application
Purchased this two years ago and after about 1-2 months, noticed some rusting in the areas where my hands are typically for deadlifts/cleans. I thought that if I kept oiling the bar every 3-4 weeks, I would mitigate the rusting and the areas wouldn’t get worse. The bar stays in the garage, is brushed regularly to prevent chalk from sitting on it too long, and only has one user. I understand that the humidity here in TX doesn’t help but I expected better out of a rogue barbell. I am very disappointed with the quality of the cerakote coating. Now, I can’t let the bar go longer a couple before the rust gets really bad on it. We bought the junior barbell that has the black zinc coating around the same time and there is no rusting. Doesn’t make sense unless there was a bad application of the cerakote.

Fantastic. Typical Rogue- high quality.
Home gym use. Navy/black cerekote, looks brand new over a year later. What can be said that hasn't already? All my Rogue bars so far have been extremely nice quality and very durable.
