Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar

The Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar is fully machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, using 205K PSI tensile strength steel (200K PSI for Stainless). Approved for competition by the International Powerlifting Federation, this 29MM diameter bar includes single powerlifting knurl marks and a center knurl, with the same deep, coarse (but not overly sharp) knurl pattern as our 45LB Ohio Power Bar. The 20KG bar does have a greater loadable sleeve length than the 45LB bar (16.875” vs. 16.25”). This is a result of the slightly smaller width of the collars.

One of the key factors that sets the 20KG Ohio Power Bar apart from other powerlifting barbells in the industry is its friction welded sleeves. A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

The 20KG Rogue Ohio Power Bar includes bronze bushings, a snap ring design, and two finish options: Black Zinc shaft with Bright Zinc sleeves or Stainless Steel shaft with Chrome sleeves.

Key Features of the Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar

  • 1205,000 PSI Steel (200,000 PSI for Stainless)

The Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 205,000 PSI (200,000 PSI for Stainless), delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel. IPF approved for competition.

  • 2Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

  • 3Friction Welded Sleeves

A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

  • 4Use It With These Other Rogue Products

Ohio Power Bar owners can use this barbell in conjunction with a broad range of other top caliber Rogue powerlifting products, from the Westside Bench and R-3 Power Rack to deadlift bar jacks, Wagon Wheel plates, and Calibrated Steel Plates.

  • 5Two Finish Options

The 20KG version of the Ohio Power Bar is available in your choice of two quality finishes. The Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the new Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) creates the look and natural feel of bare steel with less upkeep required. F Scale™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

Oxidation Rate
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing bar! This bar is truly amazing. You don't know what you are missing if you are using a cheap bar until you try this. Got the all black cerakote finish on the Ohio power bar. Loving it. Holding up well so far too (about a dozen workouts in). Knurling is aggressive but not sharp. Collars spin freely but not too much. I love the stiffness of the bar on bench and squat. This bar is a full 6 lbs heavier than my cheap CAP barbell (because this one actually weighs 45 lbs) and yet I could still follow my normal progression without adjusting the weight down. Overall, it just feels awesome in your hands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great power bar for the money! Superior grip but won’t shred your hands. The bar stays put on low bar back squats and is solid with no Whip or bounce.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bar on Market In my opinion this is the best power lifting bar on the market at a good price as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Goldilocks power bar: it's "just right" This review is for the Stainless 20KG Ohio Power Bar. Of the seven barbells in my home gym, this is my favorite. It is absolutely stellar for most powerlifting movements (particularly squat, bench, bench press, and press). It's also the best choice for deadlifts if your PL federation mandates the use of a stiff bar for DL. I consider this my "Goldilocks" bar. It's just right. Knurling is consistent and sufficiently grippy without being overly aggressive... it's "just right" for a power bar. The 29mm shaft is very stiff, as it should be for a power bar. It exhibits almost no whip. Again, "just right"... Crossfitters and Olympic lifters should be advised that this bar is probably non-optimal for highly dynamic or high-rep lifts. Oly lifts are best served by less aggressive knurling, a 28-28.5mm diameter, and much more whip than the OPB provides. Out of the box, the bronze bushings rotate smoothly without any binding; the sleeves do not exhibit excessive play. The corrosion-resistant stainless shaft and chromed sleeves should minimize the need for maintenance. In terms of power bars, the Stainless OPB bar is a noticeable step up over the bars I've used in commercial gyms. It is at least as good as the TPBs I've used in the past. You KNOW if you need a real power bar... and if you need a power bar, this is a great choice... and likely the BEST choice for the money. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome power bar Going from a gym with regular olympic bars (28mm & bearings), to this was noticeable (for the better). My grip suffered slightly, but I love the lower whip & its deeper knurling. I only need chalk if my hands are super sweaty. I use it for everything - deadlifts, squats, bench, OHP, rows, landmine stuff, etc etc etc. I noticed a tiny spot that seems the paint chipped on the unknurled part, but it's not a big deal. My cheap plates are also beating up the sleeves paint job a good bit because of the rough edges and excess paint, but so far so good. More than likely all the superficial damage is from wear and tear, as I didn't notice any of this stuff when I first got it, which is why I'm still giving it a 5/5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought this bar for overall fitness and powerlifting. Handles anything I throw at it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my gym setup I love it. I have the bare steel version and it looks/feels great. The knurling is perfect and it basically sticks to your hands. Maintenance is pretty easy, too. I just use some oil and a nylon brush before wiping it down with a rag. Simple stuff. I highly recommend this bar, in bare steel. I can't speak for the other finishes.
