Tailbone Protection
For many athletes, it’s not abdominal pain that limits their number of sit-ups; it’s literally a pain in the backside. Even a quality sit-up pad can leave the tailbone vulnerable to friction against the floor as your body extends and contracts, leading to skin damage, soreness and bruising. The Wise Crack AbMat solves this problem by including two seat flaps extending from the base of the cushion. These padded legs create a “channel” or “crack” that suspends the tail bone during the movement, eliminating any pressure on that area.
Superior Stability
When an athlete sits on the extended “legs” of the Wise Crack AbMat, his or her bodyweight also simultaneously counters any unwanted movement of the cushion during training, preventing sliding and keeping the mat completely stabilized for a safe, efficient sit-up.
Full Extension/Full Contraction: Sit-Ups Redefined
Like every pad with the AbMat name, the Wise Crack is contoured to tilt the spine and enable a full extension of the abdominals at the beginning of a sit-up—not possible on a flat surface alone. It also stabilizes the pelvis as you rise up, allowing the abs to fully contract. The result is a more efficient and complete core training of the abdominal, oblique, and back muscles—without a dependence on momentum.
