Rogue Axle

Deceptively Simple Grip Training

A collaborative effort between the Rogue team and Rob Orlando of Hybrid Athletics, the powder-coated, 1.9” diameter Rogue Axle offers athletes an effective change of pace for any lifting regimen, promoting greater wrist and grip strength. The bar measures 84" in total length, with 15.5” of loadable sleeve length and 52” between the collars.

From presses to rows to deadlifts, the Axle makes for a more challenging but ultimately more beneficial workout, emphasizing the muscles in the hands in a way standard bars can’t. It’s the same principles that have made fat bars an essential part of the modern Strongman training arsenal. A more compact 5’ version of this bar, the Stubby Axle, is also available.

IMPORTANT: Some standard barbell collars may not work on this specialty bar. We recommend using either the Rogue HG Axle Collars, Red OSO Axle Collars or PROLOC™ Strongman Collars.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Paint Quality I like the bar... I do not like the "Rouge" sticker. I am sure a more robust alternative like etching could have been used. The durability of the powder coating is terrible. If you don't mind the paint chipping off easily then this bar is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of equipment Love everything about it. Haven't used it as much as I intend to in the future, but the time I spent using it I enjoyed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ez Grip Strength Very happy with this axle bar. Have been using it mainly for curls and rows, and it has challenged my grip strength tremendously. Even though I'm using less weights to do the same exercises the larger bar makes a serious difference in how much you can hold/lift. A couple of minor imperfections came on the powder coat new, but it gets worn by the plates & rack so much that I don't even think about it. Again very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging but fun I goy this for my son for his 18th birthday and he loved it . He said it is challenging because of the type of grip but he is having fun learning and getting use to it .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bar I bought this bar since there were no bars available. It turned out to be a great purchase. It is awesome for power clean and push presses. I use if for everything, deadlifts, front and back squats.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is what they say it is I like my axle bar, for the most part. There are several other companies that make this type of implement, and I'm sure some are more affordable. However, Rogue's version probably has the best finish. I don't understand the sticker, but I guess it's cool that it's included. Mine was partially peeled off, and stuck to the inside of the box, though. Maybe Rogue should consider ceracoating their logo, or something, instead. I also kinda hate that you have to buy special collars for it. All in all, I love training with my axle bar, and I would recommend buying one, and lots of other products from Rogue, as I will continue to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Axle works great Having been compelled by current events to create a home gym, I purchased an axle bar to help vary my exercises and increase grip strength. The Rogue Axle is high quality and provides the perfect platform for the work, and I expect to be using it for many years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bar but powder coat peels on sleeve area Great bar. Very sturdy and affordable. Only complaint is powder coat peeling after racing weights over and over. I would suggest to rogue to not add powder coat to sleeves where weights are racked. the finish on the sleeves looks nice when you first purchase it, but it becomes a nuisance having to constantly vacuum up paint chips as it peels with continued use. I ended up having to sand the paint off so this wouldn’t happen.
