Ryan Davis
Coach Ryan Davis, The Director of Performance at The University of Maryland has become a recognized voice in a new school of strength & conditioning by making the development of the mind as important as the development of the body. Davis has become known for his motivational posts on social media within the program and across college athletics.
During lockdown in 2020 “don’t look for relief” became one of his staples for viewers. He often encouraged them to “look for the next best way to get uncomfortable; Stay in it, work in it, & keep growing.”
Davis’s #DontWeaken mindset makes him a perfect addition to the ROGUE journeymen team. Throughout his 15 years in the profession his methods have proven to be a difference maker in the field of collegiate strength & conditioning. As a former intern and assistant strength coach at The University of Alabama (2009-2011), Ryan was mentored by the likes of Scott Cochran while learning from one of the greatest coaches in college football history, Nick Saban. Davis was part of the program when The Tide claimed a pair of National Championships in 2009 & 2011.
From there, he went on to become the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Samford University (2012-2015) where his innovative approach to training helped the Bulldogs secure their first conference championship and three winning seasons. The success at Samford led to his next role as Head Football strength coach at Colorado State University (2015-2019) where he was part of the first staff to ever have three consecutive winning seasons. In his current role at Maryland (2019-present) Davis continues to lead a high-performance model which helps prepare athletes for the highest level of competition. His “relationships first” approach paired with his passion & mentality is what makes his leadership style so unique.
Coach Davis holds a bachelors degree in Health & exercise Science from Rowan University (New Jersey) and a Masters in Education from the University of West Florida. He has worked not only with football, but volleyball, tennis, baseball, softball, basketball, rowing, soccer & gymnastics.
