KEY FEATURES OF THIS OHIO POWER BAR:

1

205,000 PSI Steel (200,000 PSI For Stainless)

The Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 205,000 PSI (200,000 PSI for Stainless), delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel.

2

Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

3

Black Zinc Finish

The Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, the Bare Steel creates a classic look and natural feel, and the new Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) strikes a balance between the two. Depending on the look and feel you prefer, there is a version of the Ohio Power Bar right in your wheelhouse.

Lifetime Warranty

The Ohio Power Bar’s quality construction is backed by Rogue’s Lifetime Warranty against bending. This is a barbell equipped for high intensity, everyday use.
*Please Note: The warranty does not cover damage due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user, i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage. Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

F SCALE™

The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

OXIDATION RATE

The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Nice and Aggressive
I've been using this barbell for a couple weeks now and it's awesome. The aggressiveness of the grip is just right for me. Passive knurling makes my hands slip too much but this digs in nicely. I know my wife doesn't like it as much as she has softer hands. I have callused hands from work so it works great for a guy like me.

Love it
It feels perfect. Better than I imagine. If you’re used to regular public gym barbells like I used to be, this will feel like a new world.

Stainless Steel Is The Way!
I have owned two of the Stainless Steel versions of this barbell for approximately seven months. One of these bars is my daily workhorse. The other bar I use mostly when I want to superset multiple barbell exercises. Point being, both bars get a lot of use. I've been fortunate enough in the past to have had access to some of the best barbells on the market. I only mention this to say, when comparing head to head, IMO, the all stainless OPB is the best barbell you can buy for the money. Are there nicer barbells you can buy? Yes. Are they several hundred dollars better than the OPB? I would say that's a definite NO! The knurling on the OPB is the best of any bar I've ever used. Moderately sharp, but VERY grippy. I have no issues deadlifting with one if I want to do so with a straight bar. My favorite aspect of this barbell, outside of the beautiful finish, is how perfectly balanced it feels in hand. Combine this with the outstanding knurl and anti-corrosive finish and you've got an excellent barbell that will last a lifetime. I lift in a humid environment and both barbells have shown zero signs of rust. These bars require minimum maintenance. Brush the dead skin and chalk out of the knurl and give a drop or two of oil in the bronze bushings once in awhile and that's all that is required. I also wipe the gunk off the sleeves that my plates leave behind sometimes, but it's really not required. If I had any negatives, it would be that one of the bars arrived with a sleeve that had pretty bad spin. It would catch halfway through a rotation and stop spinning. I reached out to Rogue and, to my surprise, the rep was a little indifferent. The person suggested I oil the sleeve and made no other overtures to replace or repair. Not a huge deal, but I would have liked to have seen a better response than that. Oiling the bushings didn't help so ultimately, I removed the sleeve entirely, cleaned the shaft and the bushings as best I could, heavily oiled the contact points, replaced the sleeve and now it spins fine. It's a little annoying I had to go to this length to fix a brand new, $500 barbell on my own, but it did the trick, so that's all that matters. I would highly recommend this barbell to everyone.

No Ragrets
Huge upgrade from the cheap bar I was using before. The knurling is not as aggressive as some people make it out to be. Maybe too aggressive for Olympic lifting but for bodybuilding or powerlifting it's perfect. It might seem a little expensive but once you get your hands on it you can immediately see (and feel) where the money went.
