I love this loadable kettlebell. It has a great feel, it's heavy duty and the handle has a nice raw steel. I would recommend this item and I'm very pleased I bought it.

If you already have olympic weights and are limited on space, this is a great and affordable alternative to buying individual kettlebells.

I bought the plate-loader to allow progress in weight in my kettlebell swings without having to invest in heavier and heavier bells. I've had it for about a month now. And while, in general, the bell does what I need it to do, there are a few issues that I think a more nuanced design could've addressed. Many of these are things others have commented on, but I'll share my experience anyway. 1. The handle is wide enough, but it's shape means I can't wrap all of my fingers inside of it (my pinkies hang out). I think the "flat" shape of the handle is designed to keep the total height of the bell low enough to the ground to mimic a standard bell, which I can understand. Still, when you're swinging higher and higher weights, you want the security of all your fingers around the handle. 2. The handle does not fit snugly in the base. It feels secure with the pin, but it does tend to clank quite a bit as you swing the weight around. 3. Others have noted that a regular olympic collar doesn't fit. I have standard Rogue collars that do fit, but don't appear to clamp as firmly as they do on a barbell. My bigger issue is that a clamp takes up 2" of space on the base, which limits the number of plates you can add. My solution was to use a 1-1/2" pipe clamp that I found at lowes. I need a screwdriver to remove/install it, but it does allow me to add an additional plate while holding the weights securely. Bottom line is that it does what I need it to do. And for $80 (again, instead of buying a bunch of heavier and more expensive bells), I'm not going to complain much.

I think it is useful for saving space and is sturdy. My 2 major complaints however are that it is unfinished and the handle could be wider and more of a normal kettlebell shape. I do have access to a blast at work so I had them blast it clean (most people don’t have that luxury). That being said it is strong and will last you awhile. Just make sure you have collars for an axle bar or the screw ones with the clip ring.
