Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar

The Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar is fully machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, using 205K PSI tensile strength steel (200K PSI for Stainless). Approved for competition by the International Powerlifting Federation, this 29mm diameter bar includes single powerlifting knurl marks and a center knurl, with the same deep, coarse (but not overly sharp) knurl pattern as our 45LB Ohio Power Bar. The 20KG bar does have a greater loadable sleeve length than the 45LB bar (16-7/8” vs. 16-1/4”). This is a result of the slightly smaller width of the collars.

One of the key factors that sets the 20KG Ohio Power Bar apart from other powerlifting barbells in the industry is its friction welded sleeves. A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

The 20KG Rogue Ohio Power Bar includes bronze bushings, a snap ring design, and two finish options: Black Zinc shaft with Bright Zinc sleeves or Stainless Steel shaft with Chrome sleeves.

Key Features of the Rogue 20KG Ohio Power Bar

  • 1205,000 PSI Steel (200,000 PSI for Stainless)

The Ohio Power Bar’s 29mm diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 205,000 PSI (200,000 PSI for Stainless), delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel. IPF approved for competition.

  • 2Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

  • 3Friction Welded Sleeves

A technique borrowed from the worlds of aviation and automotive manufacturing, the friction welding process creates a precision, forged-quality bond, resulting in superior strength and fatigue resistance, as well as a finer grain structure on the welded joint.

  • 4Use It With These Other Rogue Products

Ohio Power Bar owners can use this barbell in conjunction with a broad range of other top caliber Rogue powerlifting products, from the Westside Bench and R-3 Power Rack to deadlift bar jacks, Wagon Wheel plates, and Calibrated Steel Plates.

  • 5Two Finish Options

The 20 KG version of the Ohio Power Bar is available in your choice of two quality finishes. The Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, while the new Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) creates the look and natural feel of bare steel with less upkeep required. *Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect bar Really awesome sturdy bar, knurling is super aggressive which helps on squats and deadlifts. No regrets at all

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for Performs as advertised and is a much better olympic bar than what I was using. You can tell it was precisely machined and made with quality in mind. The collar to collar spacing was slightly shorter than my old bar, which caused issues for me on bench press. The plates would sometimes clip the rack. Maybe the rack I use (Weider 396) is a little wider than standard? Not a big deal though since I bought this bar for squats and deadlift anyway. I just use the old bar for bench since it has a wider collar to collar spacing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just plain awesome Bought my own OPB and all I can say is the knurling feels amazing and just the bar in general.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stainless Steel I have the Stainless Steel version and I absolutely love it. If you are worried about the knurling being too aggressive, it isn't. The knurling is absolutely perfect. The only issue that I have is the tiny metal shavings that get all over my hands every time I use the bar. Seems like ROGUE could have cleaned the shavings off the bar before they sent it to me. I assume they will all come off eventually.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sexy Barbell I’m glad I bought this. Now, whenever I’m looking in the mirror while I’m doing barbell bicep curls, I have a barbell that looks as sexy as me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Centerpiece Bar for "slow" lifts I bought the bare steel ohio power bar with the middle knurl like 5 months ago. Squats, presses, and deadlifts should NOT be done on any other bar!! The knurl is very aggressive and digs in tight when it matters most. I can't imagine a more passive knurl being better for heavy lifts. The bare steel is holding up in my basement just fine. I put a white gun grease on the bushings right out the box and soaked the whole thing in 3-in-1 for like two days before buffing it dry with a shop rag and starting to lift it. This bar should be renamed the Strength-Training Bar. It is that dam perfect for the strength lifts! I love love love this bar. I would not recommend cleans or snatches on this bar however. The knurl might draw blood on your hands or collar-bone after several attempts. This is the PERFECT tool for "slow" lifts. Get a thinner, whippier, more passively knurled bar for your "fast" lifts. And also, the price is epic! 250$? That is a seriously great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A cheese grater for the unprepared This was my first barbell purchase from Rogue, and I was very impressed with the experience. The bar came very quickly. The finish on the bar is beautiful. The knurling is truly aggressive, however. It took me a month to be able to grip the thing without feeling pain, and I've been lifting weights for a while (albeit on and off) at commercial gyms. Heaven forbid you drag the knurling up your shins while deadlifting. This bar even leaves imprints of itself in your shoulders after squats! Otherwise, this barbell is fantastic. It's very rigid and makes you want to come back for more. It's an excellent addition to my home aside from a couple minor complaints: the knurling nearly ruins any other surface it gets in contact with because it's so rough. For example, it is already tearing up my J cup bar holders and safety spotter arms. Also, the bar flecks off some steel onto whatever it touches. Be sure to brush off the excess grains of metal before you begin to use it.
