Rogue SM-1 Squat Stand 2.0

Bridging the gap between traditional squat stands and power racks, the fully redesigned Rogue Monster Squat Stand 2.0 features over-sized 3x3" 11 gauge steel uprights, 1" hardware, and a bolt-together base with triangle plates for maximum stability. Each 73" upright of our SM-1 model also now includes a keyhole design down the side (for greater flexibility with a wider array of new attachments), along with a new Satin Black powder coat finish and dome tag branding for a bolder look. The unit’s base, triangle plates, and crossmembers feature the Satin Black powder coat finish, as well.

The SM-1 is the smallest of our Monster Series squat stands and does NOT include a pull-up bar option. The rack is manufactured in Columbus, OH, and ships with all required hardware and a set of Monster J-cups with UHMW plastic inserts and a signature, textured black powder coat finish.

This is a compact, dependable squat rack well suited to small garage gyms as well as larger affiliates and training facilities.

Note: Due to no pull-up bar connecting the uprights of the SM-1, certain attachments such as the Monster Matador and Plate Storage Posts are not recommended. Use of these accessories in conjunction with the SM-1 Squat Stand can cause severe injury to the user and damage the equipment.

Worth
Solid piece of equipment. Worth every penny. Now my biggest problem is finding space for all the equipment I want to add.

Awesome Stand
Just upgraded our home gym squat stand to this beautiful piece. Easy to assemble. Looks great. Easily going to be more than enough for our use. Our basement wasn’t big enough to fit a full rack in so we went with this — great decision. Also have plenty of attachment options to continue to build out in the future

More Stable than anticipated.
Bought this after using it at my local gym. Before had a bias thinking that it would not be stable at all and would shake and wobble. However, it was incredibly sturdy. Bought it and put it together quickly and have had 0 concern when re-racking the weight (up to 350lbs). The rack does not move at all and is very well made. Additionally got the safety arms, have not dropped bar but have used it as a start for some workouts and they are incredible heavy and I fully believe that will keep me safe while maxing out.

Garage appropriate and STURDY
I bought this rack and couldn’t be more satisfied, it’s sturdy and occupied a relatively small space in my garage. I can do all rack type workout except standing pull ups, head hitting roof, but honestly I’m just so pleased with this workout equipment.

BEST investment you’ll ever make!
I can’t say enough good things about this squat rack. From its size to the quality, everything about it is perfect. We were concerned about having lower ceilings in this room and it ended still fitting perfect. It’s so incredibly sturdy and did not take long at all to put together with two people. I’d recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone contemplating it.

Excellence as expected
We all know how well regarded Rogue’s equipment is. Truly, they never fail to deliver. I am very happy with the build quality and strength of my new squat stand. Photos don’t do the stand justice, it is much more heavy duty than it appears. It’s typical Rogue and I’m very (mostly) pleased. Downsides for me is how expensive everything is and what you get for your hard earned money. I could understand the price tag with everything you see in my photos (minus the barbell and bench). I had to separately purchase the top beam, which should be included, in my opinion. Also, why is the hardware sold separate for the top beam? Safety spotter arms should also be a given, not a $325 extra. That’s goofy… I feel like a lot of markup is here because it bears the Rogue name. Nevertheless, outstanding quality and craftsmanship. I’m happy, albeit a little financially hurt lol.

Perfect for low ceiling, details on pull up bar
Bought this last month and couldn't be happier. We have 84" basement ceilings so options were limited. I considered going cheap with entry level stuff from corporate chain sporting goods store, or going all in and getting Rogue gear. I am so glad I didn’t buy the cheap stuff. This thing is quality and worth every penny. It is rock solid definitely does not need a crossmember, crank those bolts tight and you're good to go. Despite it being listed as incompatible with a pull up bar, I was determined to add one (again, specifically NOT recommended). You CAN put a monster 43" bar on it, however unless you are very very short, it is NOT going to work because of two main problems. 1. With it mounted in the top possible position, my head can hit the pull up bar when unracking squats. I am 5’8”. My guess is you would have to be 5’6” or shorter to have total clearance under the bar. It also means you cannot attach the J-cups to the top section of holes because the bolts for the bar are in the way. So again, problem for squatting unless you are a short guy like me. 2. As far as pull ups: I have it mounted in the top possible position. Hanging, my knees are less than an inch from the floor. If you are any taller than 5’8” (or 5’8 with long arms or torso), your knees will hit the ground on pull ups. Even without a pull up bar, this thing is awesome. To go with it, I got the Ohio bar and steel plates (did the Delta bar and plate package, saved on shipping and most of it shipped right away), and the York A-frame plate tree. I love it all. Highly recommend.
