The latest model of our Stainless Steel Ohio Bar is manufactured to a set of extremely strict tolerances, with several key components carried over from the Rogue Hybrid Power Bar. Machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, this multipurpose 20KG barbell maintains the reliable spin and whip of the original Ohio Bar while delivering a quieter performance and significantly reduced float of the sleeves on the shaft resulting in a solid lifting experience. The updated design also performs better in durability testing, as the stainless steel shaft and Rogue Work Hardening process (RWH) contribute to an elite score of F-10R on the F-Scale.
Each Stainless / Black Ohio Bar includes a 200K PSI tensile strength shaft (28.5mm diameter), dual knurl marks for Olympic and Powerlifting, and an exclusive Rogue knurl pattern that’s 100% in its original, machined form for an unmatched feel. New, precision-machined bronze bushings fit tighter around the shaft (reducing radial endfloat), and tighter tolerances around the sleeve attachment help to limit axial endfloat resulting in substantial noise reduction.

For the sleeves, our Proprietary Matte Black finish effectively converts the surface of the steel rather than coating it; hardening the sleeve’s surface and making it more resistant to the regular action of plates being added and removed. The sleeves also include a new low-profile surface finish. By using advanced optical profilometry to gauge the sleeve finish, we are able to ensure that the profile of the sleeve is exactly as designed.
Every version of the Ohio Bar represents more than just the Rogue brand. Its name is a testament to where we work, who we are, and the pride we feel in making the best weightlifting bars on the market.
Note on Stainless Steel: Barbells made from raw steel are not plated and therefore marks from the machining process may be visible. Stainless steel shafts will show CNC processing marks. These are cosmetic and will not impact the barbell's performance

This high tensile strength steel used in the new Stainless / Black Ohio Bar is manufactured in the USA and has proven to be one of the best steel variants for a multi-purpose barbell, producing normal “whip” during Olympic weightlifting and enough stiffness to hold for heavy Powerlifting. This corrosion-resistant stainless steel is also particularly well suited to having its fatigue life increased by our Rogue Work Hardening (RWH) process. With a tested score of F-10R, the Stainless Ohio Bar has one of the highest F-Scale durability ratings of any Rogue barbell with standard-length sleeves.
With no plating, the knurl on the Stainless Steel Ohio Bar is left exactly how we machined it, providing a great feel that cannot be achieved with other finishes. It’s similar to the knurl feel from a bare steel shaft, but with better corrosion resistance. The combination of a stainless steel shaft and matte black sleeves also creates a sharp look with few equals.
Please Note: Rogue recommends using a synthetic bristle brush, NOT a steel brush, to clean a stainless steel shaft. Steel on stainless steel can contaminate the stainless steel and cause rusting over time. See more tips here: Bar Care & Maintenance.
Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, every connection in the new Stainless Ohio Bar has tightened tolerances measuring in the thousandths of an inch. Using advanced optical profilometry as well as custom electronic gauging, we can produce a multipurpose bar that consistently meets our exacting standards. This applies to the knurl and the sleeve profile, as well as the features in the shaft and sleeves that result in the perfect fit when assembling the bars. The result is less axial and radial float of the sleeves and significant noise reduction compared to previous models.
The sleeves of the Stainless Ohio Bar are finished in a new process that transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it. This Proprietary Matte Black finish greatly improves the sleeves’ corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance. Additionally, the coloring extends below the surface of the steel. Therefore, unlike sleeves treated with surface coatings, these sleeves will maintain their beautiful matte black appearance after extended use.
The Ohio Bar is assembled with bronze bushings, which act as bearing surfaces between the bar sleeve and bar shaft. This is a very robust way of building a barbell, and can produce a smooth, consistent spin not possible with lesser import bars. Each bar comes with an “Ohio Bar Card” that has the initials of the Rogue team member that built it.
The multi-purpose Ohio Bar will have normal “whip” during Olympic weightlifting and enough stiffness to hold for heavy Powerlifting. The steel in this bar is proven as an excellent choice for weightlifters.
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.
*Warranty against bending does not cover any bar which has been damaged due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user. Negligent or faulty use includes abusive dropping of the bar (i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage). Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We have found that most problems with bars we replace are related to abusive use rather than manufacturing or materials issues.
