The game of tennis can certainly be said to be one in which the representatives of no one Nation or Continent have held absolute supremacy. At various times. during the modern history of the game, several countries have had the honor of possessing the most capable exponents of the game, with none holding absolute supremacy over a very definite period. Not so many years ago the game of tennis was regarded by athletes and sportsmen as a pastime for mollycoddles.
