The Plyoswing is another innovation from the strength lab of Westside Barbell in Columbus, Ohio. Built from heavy-gauge steel and weighing in at 825 LBS, this one-of-a-kind machine develops extreme strength and explosive power for better take-offs and landings; essential for sports involving jumping, sprinting, and/or lifting.
The Plyoswing is designed to convert potential energy into kinetic energy. As Louie Simmons has explained it, “it’s a jumping device, not a leg press machine. I've had NFL players do 3 sets of 10, three times a week, and say it's the greatest thing they've ever used for coming off the ball."
The faster an athlete pushes themselves off the platform on the Plyoswing, the more explosive power they can generate in their legs. They can also elect to add bands to increase velocity for over speed eccentrics, or add weight plates to change mass. According to Louie, the positive training potential of this unit can’t be duplicated, as “one will invariably use more eccentric muscle tension and slow the yielding phase, causing a lessening effect on the reversal phase.”
Customers can order the Plyoswing here in black. All units are manufactured in the USA.
