These are pretty decent plates. The plates seem to be accurately machined. The raised lettering is easy to read. They slide easily onto my Olympic barbell, yet once seated they do not move around or rattle. The issue I have with them, and the reason for the mediocre rating, is that the finishing coat of paint makes the plates very slippery. That means that one has to be extra careful when picking them up or stacking them. It would be easy to drop these plates due to the excessively slick finish; they also slide around easily when stacked vertically. Such a glossy, slick finish to iron weight plates seems out of place and unnecessary.

Just what I expected for the price, the paint does chip quite easily though. Another thing is: they look slightly different from the pictures. Not a big deal, the 1s are just sticks (kinda like roman numbers) but that is not what you see in the pictures. I would go straight for the calibrated ones if you're not on a budget and want cast iron plates.

I bought 2 pair and thought I was getting what was in the picture which is a dark grey, rough surface. This would match my other plates. Instead, I got high gloss, very slippery black. They are so slippery that I already dropped one. Make sure you understand what you are buying - don't make my mistake.

This are the only product I bought for my weight area that I'm a little disappointed in. They're weights and they work fine, but the covering chips very easily just moving the plates around and it makes them quite sharp. If I would have known this were an issue I would have absolutely bought another weight set (even if they were move expensive). I would suggest to Rogue that they stop selling these since they are well below the quality of everything else I purchased.

Great value and it will last a lifetime, I plan on getting the whole set. Fan of the classic look as well.

Awesome clean looking plates. They slide onto the bar easily and easy to grab and maneuver.

I love how easy they are to grab and move around. The edges make it easy to grab and not drop. I have had my setup for about a month and I noticed coat chipping on the edges especially around the hole. I am extremely OCD and have been careful with them, not dropping them, and being relatively gentle when stacking them and they still have already chipped. I was expecting the coating to last WAY longer than just a month.
