Rogue Reverse Hyper Roller Attachment

This adjustable roller attachment is compatible with any of the Rogue Reverse Hypers, and features a quick release design for easy transition to and from a strap attachment. The roller attachment targets the glutes, hamstrings, hips, spinal erectors and tractions out your back. The strap attachment emphasizes the glutes and hamstrings.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rogue quality, poor design I purchased this with my RH-2 Reverse Hyper from Rogue a few months ago, and sadly, I regret it. There is no question regarding it's durability - this thing is solid. The pads are nice and dense, the lever adjustment works well and the metal is thick - all very much up to Rogue standards. However, the design leaves much to be improved. As others have mentioned, the range of motion of the reverse hyper is severely limited with this attachment. I'm by no means a tall male (clock in at 5 10), and I still have the limitations that the previous taller lifters mention on any adjustment setting. If you imagine the resting position as your legs being perpendicular to the floor, and the top-most position being your legs parallel to the floor (creating a 90 degree angle), you're lucky to get 45 degrees of movement with this attachment. This elicits a minimal training stimulus, if any. When you reach the top-end of the swing, the attachment "bottoms out" with the connecting lever, jamming your femurs into your hip sockets. So not only do you elicit a minimal stimulus, you can easily injure your hips. I've tried all the adjustment holes, too - all to no avail. Also, as others have said, you CANNOT wear lifting shoes with an elevated heel - they don't fit. It's frustrating to attempt a superset with this attachment and other movements due to putting on/removing shoes (For example, I don't like going to good mornings and performing those barefoot, or any movement for that matter). I'm not sure why that foot bar exists anyways - every other reverse hyper I've used with a roller has never had those. Other rollers that I've used allow for the rollers to move along the posterior leg. It's a shame, because as I mentioned, the quality/construction is very Rogue-like - it's durable (that's why it gets 2 starts and not 1 from me). However, I really wanted this to work because most roller attachments allow the lifter to target the lower back more compared to the strap that hits the hamstrings and glutes more (yes, the strap still targets the lower back, but not to the same degree in my experience with other rollers). I would certainly just stick with the strap that comes with the RH-2. If it had not been for life winning the battle during the month-window I had to return this attachment, I would have returned it. Unfortunately, life gets in the way at times and I missed the return window. So now I'll leave this attachment (that I've used twice) to sit and collect dust until I have the time to have it fabricated. I believe if that foot bar and the connection assembly were modified, this attachment would work much better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Agree w/ previous reviewers, just OK I've been using this for more than six months and I agree with the previous two reviews; this has some drawbacks. The bar at the bottom limits the range of motion for taller folks and doesn't allow the rollers to, well, roll! After a squat session I cannot just hop on and use the machine due to the bar. I have to remove my lifting shoes before use. Even minimal Nanos are a snug fit. It seems the bar needs to be removed (which I may do) and there should be one more notch to extend for folks over 6'.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid like all things Rogue, but not ideal... I bought this after using the strap on my hyper for a month since i was looking for something more controlled... Unfortunately the spacing between the rollers limits using weightlifting shoes, and the foot bar at the bottom prevents the rollers from travelling along the leg like the westside models. In addition, the mount is scratching the pendulum and does not have the full range on the smallest setting. In hindsight I should have stuck with the strap as I still go back to using it. Perhaps a version 2.0 will correct the current limitations?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very poor fit for the RH-2 I was on the fence adding this to my purchase with the RH-2. I checked shipping of this attachment with and without the RH-2 and shipping was free with the RH-2 so I added it to my purchase. I've bought a lot of Rogue equipment and this is the 1st time a Rogue manufactured product didn't exceed my expectations. I'm 6'2 and even with the mounting post fully extended I have to bend my knees and I can't reach a fully parallel extension. This makes the movement fairly awkward and you can't fully engage the muscle groups involved. The rollers and bottom foot post are also extremely tight with my size 12 shoes (Rogue do-wins). This issue is not a show stopper, but this is not a one size fits all setup. I didn't want to give this attachment a one star review and trash it; if you're shorter it may be an excellent product. However, based on my experience I believe that taller people may find that it's a less than an optimal setup. I waited a couple of months before trying this adapter so I didn't feel that I was justified in calling Rogue looking for a refund, this one is on me. I've had the RH-2 for about six months and it is excellent, but not for shorter people, my wife is 4'8" and can't use the spud. I also posted a review on the RH-2. I love Rogue and will continue to buy their equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I ordered the roller attachment when I ordered the Reverse Hyper to give myself the option of using both the strap and the roller. I must say it was much more than I have imagined. It was bigger than I thought, but the quality and strength of it is amazing. It targets the lower back and spinal erectors more, while the strap is more glutes and hamstrings. I love this product lot and very happy I order it. No regrets at all, just continuing to make gains and progress. Keep up the awesome work Rogue.
