Rogue Z Hyper

The Rogue Z Hyper upgrades several features from our standard RH-2 Reverse Hyper machine, including a new bolt-together design (for easier portability), a beefed up 3x3” 11-gauge steel construction, and adjustable front handles (ranging from 2-14" from pad edge) that allow users of any size to custom-tailor their desired hand placement. Comparable machines on the market can cost more than $1,500, but the Z Hyper's efficient design makes it a uniquely affordable choice.

Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, the Rogue Z Hyper is approved by Louie Simmons himself as an effective tool for physical therapy, back rehab exercises, and for regular everyday training—particularly for those looking to reduce back tightness and strengthen the hamstrings, glutes, and hips. Like the RH-2, the Z Hyper includes an oversized pad (35" wide x 24" deep x 3" thick) with an extended back lip to keep the user’s hips from resting on any metal/hard surface. A 3x3” step on each side of the unit makes it easier to climb aboard, and rubber feet are included on the base for extra grip/stability and floor protection.

The two plate storage posts on the Z Hyper each have 10.5" loadable length. With the addition of an optional base crossmember (bolts below the handles), users can also attach bands to the storage posts for greater resistance and more variation.

The Science Behind the Reverse Hyperextension Machine:

Rogue’s Reverse Hypers decompress the spine and produce no vertical compression on the spine at all. This simple device allows for dynamic strength development in the concentric phase, while serving as a rehabilitation mechanism in the eccentric phase. The spine is gently stretched and depressurized during the process, creating--in essence--an internal pumping mechanism, filling the spinal column with spinal fluid and the lower back muscles with blood. Anyone who has injured their back knows that the pressure needs to be relieved and circulation restored to the injured area in order to rehabilitate. The reverse hyperextension machine offers one of the best methods for achieving this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential Equipment I have owned the Z Hyper for several months now and cant imagine completing a lower body workout without the use of the reverse hyper. I use the reverse hyper after performing any exercise that involves loading my spine with weight (squat, overhead press, etc.) and my lower back has never felt healthier or stronger. I highly recommend this to anyone that deals with lower back tightness. The reverse hyper also makes a great platform for 45" box jumps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I bought this a month ago for my boyfriend. He has been having trouble with his back this year. Since using the machine, he says that he has noticed that his back hurts less and feels like his back is getting stronger. This was a great purchase. Even though this machine is not multiuse, it was designed for a specific purpose and it does the job well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rogue Z Hyper Absolutely a fantastic purchase! As with every Rogue piece of equipment, this reverse hyper is superbly built and is a beast! I live in an area that could not accept the freight delivery, but broken down from the pallet it was very easy to transport home from the UPS facility (the pics show every box). Putting together was not too hard but I like pics with instructions and in my older age, the small pics were difficult to see. I put it together mostly by myself but had to get my kiddos to help hold the leg base while I bolted the pad base to them (if you purchase the crossmember, which I did not and wish I had, this part possibly could have been completed by myself). I did overlook the most important instruction in my excitement to get this together, and that is to "only hand-tighten the bolts until the piece is together". Not only do I do the reverse hyper, I can easily do glute kickbacks, upright rows, hip thrusters, and leg add/abduction exercises with this piece. Just a great addition to my gym!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality, lengthy assembly Very high quality, very solid, very heavy. Definitely recommend the cross member as it opens up more doors with varied resistance. This thing oozes durability. You will get a workout putting it together. This machine is an excellent accessory for posterior chain (and you can actually do a lot more with it than just hyperextensions). Build it where you want to leave it. It's massive and not easy to move when assembled. This can be put together by one person just make sure you have your sockets and a wrench ready to go. When putting it together I found that putting the uprights/legs on the swing tube (main upper component) then attaching that to the base was a way better way to go. Assembly once you have that in place is a breeze. This thing is worth it and an excellent addition to any gym.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic machine!! Just picked it up this week. Assembling it is a workout by itself, specially if you do it yourself without any help. Great fun to put it together. Heavy, sturdy and should last a lifetime. Injured my back 2 yrs ago, ruptured L5-S1, subsequent surgery and reinjured 6 months ago. My rehab has been slow and steady and I hope this device will improve my rehab and annoying symptoms much quicker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comes like IKEA only heavy and metal First let me say this piece of equipment is awesome. My only issue is with getting a piece that was incorrect and having to wait for a replacement, also having my delivery rescheduled because it didn't deliver when it wasn't supposed to. This thing comes in a ton of boxes and requires complete assembly is required and the directions can be confusing since all the nuts and bolts are just thrown into the same bag. During assembly the swing arm was sized incorrectly so the bearings would not fit on, so I had to sit with a half assembled 1000 dollar piece of equipment for a week until I could finish assembling it with replaced parts. Overall, I'd recommend the product, but expected more from Rogue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's huge! It looks much smaller on the website. It's very heavy duty built and will probably last forever. Very smooth swing arm and comfortable to use. I have no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Advertised!!! This thing is a tank. It does not move. I've never been on one of these and I'm recovering from bicep surgery, so it took me a couple of tries to get a good position but once I did I could really feel the benefit in my spine and lower back. I also bought the roller attachment thinking the strap would be uncomfortable on the back of the legs but it's not, but I don't regret buying the roller attachment. It looks like the strap will work better for big plates and the roller for little plates. Rogue!!!
