Product Description

Same quality plates, revamped design. Rogue HG 2.0 Bumpers feature new artwork (still black, still old school), with the consistent dead bounce, durability, and distinctive smooth finish athletes have come to expect from the HG line. These quality, budget-priced plates are the IWF standard 450mm in diameter, but are cut thinner than a lot of comparable bumpers to allow for more weight to be loaded on the bar. HG 2.0’s also score an average of 88 on the Shore A Durometer scale, giving them a dead blow on par with a lot of the pricier comp plates in the industry.

Just OK
I've had these for a number of years now, maybe 5-6. I'm writing this review for a guy like me who was on the fence about bumpers. I've primarily used iron plates my entire life and the made in USA deep dish weren't offered at my time of purchase. As a result, my daughter who power lifted throughout high school talked me into these for our garage gym. I don't perform olympic lifts, but use them primarily for the big three and on the rogue farmer walk handles. As a plate goes these do the job, but I think they are just average for the price. The bad is that the rubber edges tend to tear up pretty easily on the driveway during farmer walks and they are really fat on the bar. The fat width made them feel somewhat awkward for me when I started pulling heavy deadlifts with them. The weight was distributed farther out on the bar and just felt different. I understand why they are so wide, but I feel most guys powerlifting are better served purchasing the deep dish iron plates. The good is that I have used these a lot without damaging the center ring and they are fairly easy to load onto the bar for squats, bench, and even deadlifts. Overall, it's a decent product but I don't think i'd purchase this again. It's not as high of quality as the new made in USA iron plates offered today. If you're not doing olympic lifts, I'd go that route first and maybe mix in some bumpers as needed.

Great bumpers but my 45’s had a little damage.
I bought a full set of bumpers along with a monster lite rack, a bench, an Ohio bar, a land mine, and a few other accessories. They all arrived today. Everything looks great except the 45 lb bumpers. Looks like they got roughed up a bit in shipping. I’m sure they will work but I kind of like them to appear new when I pay so much.

Bump & Grind
I was hesitant to buying these because I purchased some Hex Dumbbells a year ago and even after months of sitting outside they still smell like a tire fire, it's unbelievable. I now keep them in an airtight box with a rubber gasket and only take them out when I actually need them for my workout. So upon looking for Bumper Plates I reluctantly ended up at Rogue again since, after all, they make the best stuff out there and these are also really competitively priced now that people are dismantling their home gyms again. First I looked at Germany's equivalent to Craigslist, hoping they would have exhaled most of their factory smell in some other guy's garage but people seem to think these things are tied to the gold standard as far as value retention goes, and they might be right. "Saving" a couple bucks while having to haul my cheap butt halfway across the country for a beaten up set of only 25kg and 20kg plates sounded somewhat less appealing than taking advantage of the 150kg-includes-shipping-bumperplate-bunduru Rogue currently has going. So they arrived within 48 hours (seriously Rogue?! I was still on vacation, figuring they'd take at least a week to arrive) and after removing the cardboard from one of them, feeling like getting slapped inside the nose with a fully loaded semi truck tire after four miles at 15° decline on a hot summers day, I though man, you just had to learn the same lesson twice. And yes, I knew about the oil that's on the rubber to protect the surface against bla whatever, but I removed that from the Hex Dumbbells and they still to this day make me nauseous. BUT! It works with the plates. Check the picture, this is what comes off of a 25kg plate when you polish it with a microfiber cloth, after which it will smell like a bone-dry slab of granite - pretty much nothing. For some reason the 5kg plates had more of a wax on them that was much more difficult to remove than that oil, but they too don't smell anymore and I couldn't be happier with my shiny new set. Will add a picture of the final setup if it's possible after this is published. Got the bumps, looking forward to the grind. Stay safe out there.

Couldn't ask for a better set of Bumper Plates
I've been working on my home gym for over a year now and needed to add some more 45lb plates. This version from Rogue gets the job done and is very durable. I use these several times a week and know they will be a great addition to build strength.
