Rogue MG-2 Multi-Grip Bars

Rogue’s fully welded MG-2 Multi-Grip Bars go beyond the typical Swiss bar or football barbell, offering a uniquely angled, two-way neutral grip design and compatibility with most standard power racks and Olympic plates. Whether you’re looking to reduce stress on the wrists and shoulders during press movements or to target your triceps for better lockouts, these bars enable an athlete to experiment with different approaches and develop more dynamic lifting programs.

There are currently two different models of the MG-2. The hexagonal, 52.75" MG-23 is an adaptation of our original MG-1 Heavy Duty Multi Grip Bar 2.0, and includes six angled handles (1.25” in diameter) spaced at 6.5”, 14.5”, and 22.5”. This gives the athlete three distinct grips to choose from—with a close grip emphasizing the triceps and a wide grip targeting the pectoral muscles. The Multi-Grip Bar can also be turned 180 degrees (with the Rogue logo upside down) to reverse the angle of the handles for curls or an “elbows-in” bench press.

The rectangular MG-24 Bar is roughly the same total length as the MG-23, but includes two additional handles (all at the same angle), with spacing options at 6”, 14”, 22”, and 30”. Like the MG-23, it can be rotated for elbows-in, triceps-focused training.

Both MG-2 Multi-Grip Bars are finished in our Rogue signature black powder coat. Please note that any metal-to-metal contact with the coated sleeves (such as adding and/or removing plates) may cause wear on the finish over time.

Important: For Collars that fit specialty bars like the MG-2, please see the Rogue HG Axle Collars.

Rogue MG-2 Multi Grip Bars is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does not fit in smaller width racks Great bar, however does not fit on smaller width racks. Rogue makes their racks wider. Pros and cons to this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get a bar with a sticker on it. Now, don't get me wrong. I love Rogue, and have been buying exclusively from them except the steel plates. I like this bar, as it is very solid and welding job is very nice. It is easier on my shoulder, as I was having issues with right shoulder. I am also able to bench more than the straight bar now. As to the things that could be better - The end on the sleeves seems to be cut uneven, but that is not much of an issue for me. The issue however is how Rogue is getting cheap and putting stickers on speciality bars. They seem to have a same sticker on many other equipment now, including the trap bars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I sprung for the quality of Rogue I went round and round on purchasing this bar. I have a impingement in my shoulder that prevents my left arm from going straight up. I still wanted to do OHP so I bought this bar. I decided the multi group bar would be worth the buy but then debated on buying from Rogue b/c of the price deviation from other sites. After reading endless reviews from other sites, I didn't want any headaches and any time I've ever had issues (usually with shipping), Rogue customer support has been top notch. I bit the bullet and paid top dollar and received top quality. Can't complain, no issues out the gate. Thanks Rogue!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Saving those Shoulders I've had the MG-24 for a few months now. Before purchasing I was unsure between the MG-24 and the MG-3 model but decided to go with the 24 due to the angles. This is now my main bench press bar - I find the 22" handles are idea for my size (6"0 175) and it feels so much less strain on the shoulders. I did try it for other exercises. For OHP I find it's to wide and feel like I'm going to hit my face with it even though I never have and for rows it does offer a nice variation with the neutral grip. But I got this for bench press and an very happy with what Rogue has delivered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shoulder saver After 40 Years of powerlifting I had to have my shoulder replaced. Recently using a straight bar the starting to bother my other shoulder. Using this bar I've had almost no shoulder issues using heavy weight Plus you can use an under grip and train to chest from a different angle. I wish this was around 40 years ago. Great product a little awkward to use at the beginning but after a couple workouts it feels now as normal as the barbell
