Rogue MG-2 Multi-Grip Bars

Rogue’s fully welded MG-2 Multi-Grip Bars go beyond the typical Swiss bar or football barbell, offering a uniquely angled, two-way neutral grip design and compatibility with most standard power racks and Olympic plates. Whether you’re looking to reduce stress on the wrists and shoulders during press movements or to target your triceps for better lockouts, these bars enable an athlete to experiment with different approaches and develop more dynamic lifting programs.

There are currently two different models of the MG-2. The hexagonal, 52.75" MG-23 is an adaptation of our original MG-1 Heavy Duty Multi Grip Bar 2.0, and includes six angled handles (1.25” in diameter) spaced at 6.5”, 14.5”, and 22.5”. This gives the athlete three distinct grips to choose from—with a close grip emphasizing the triceps and a wide grip targeting the pectoral muscles. The Multi-Grip Bar can also be turned 180 degrees (with the Rogue logo upside down) to reverse the angle of the handles for curls or an “elbows-in” bench press.

The rectangular MG-24 Bar is roughly the same total length as the MG-23, but includes two additional handles (all at the same angle), with spacing options at 6”, 14”, 22”, and 30”. Like the MG-23, it can be rotated for elbows-in, triceps-focused training.

Both MG-2 Multi-Grip Bars are finished in our Rogue signature black powder coat. Please note that any metal-to-metal contact with the coated sleeves (such as adding and/or removing plates) may cause wear on the finish over time.

IMPORTANT: Some standard barbell collars may not work on this specialty bar. We recommend using Axle Collars with this barbell.

Metal shavings rattling around
I bought this bar knowing it's limitations (flat instead of cambered, angled grips only, no knurling) and expected a 4 out of 5 star bar. That's what it would have been if the bar was great, but there are so many metal shavings trapped in the bar that it rattles around every time I use it and ends up feeling really cheap as a result.

well made, need knurling
Solid, well made, complete welds - as expected from Rogue. Unfortunately skimping on knurling makes this something I borderline would not recommend. I still get a lot of use out of it, but it feels really unstable in my hands. Higher rep sets are basically out of the question because I just don't trust myself to keep concentration as I get fatigued within a set. I know Rogue offers that other multigrip bar with knurling, but the grip pattern is different on that one. This one's pattern is perfect for me, I just can't trust it.

Great idea, poorly executed
I bought this to reduce the stress on my shoulders when bench pressing and it does that, but the design is poor: . 1) It weights around 39 pounds, I would have liked it to weight 45 pounds like a standard bar. 2) The ends are smaller than a standard bar and the Rogue aluminum collars won't grip it.

Thank you for the feedback. Most specialty bars are not compatible with Olympic collars, but we do offer collar options for these bars linked on this page.

Great Bar ... Except for the Powder Coating
This is my most used bar and I really love the versatility that comes with it. However, my one major complaint is that only after about 4 months of relatively light usage in my garage gym (just getting back into things and I'm the only one that uses the gym), the powder coating has started to chip and come off. Rogue says this is completely normal so my question is: "why even powdercoat if it is just going to come off?" They make it sound like this will occur over years when in reality it'll be months. They recommended me to spray with rustoleum, no joke! That's what you get with a $300 guy I guess. Sad to see not only this quality but the lack of support for their equipment.

LOVE THIS BAR!
I bought the M-24 Rogue Swiss bar a few months back and I just love it. I chose this model because of the wider 30" option and I alternate between that and closer grips. The angle not only reduces shoulder stress but works the muscles in a unique way.

Great for shoulder Pain
The neutral hand positions helped alleviate my AC joint pain for benches and presses. Back to doing heavy lifts again without shoulder irritation.
