Rogue Ohio Power Bar

Fully machined and assembled in Columbus, OH, the 29MM Rogue Ohio Power Bar features a 205,000 PSI steel shaft (200,000 PSI for Stainless), single powerlifting knurl marks, and center knurling. The bar’s knurl pattern is deep and coarse without being sharp or abrasive, and the 29MM shaft diameter and high tensile strength result in little to no flex or whip. This makes the Ohio Power Bar a perfectly honed workhorse for the bench, squat, and deadlift.

The 45LB Ohio Power Bar includes bronze bushings, a snap ring design, and 16.25" of loadable sleeve length.

When ordering, you can select from three finish options:

  • Black Zinc shaft with Bright Zinc sleeves
  • Stainless Steel shaft with Chrome sleeves
  • Bare Steel

Rogue also manufactures a 20KG Ohio Power Bar, with friction-welded sleeves and 16.25" loadable sleeve space.

Specifications:

  • Made in Columbus, OH, USA
  • More aggressive knurling for powerlifting
  • Center knurl for added “stick” to the back during squats
  • 29MM Diameter and 205,000 PSI tensile strength (200,000 for Stainless) for greater rigidity and reduced whip
  • Bronze Bushings and Snap Ring Design for smooth spin
  • Weight: 45LB
  • Finish Options: Black Zinc Shaft / Bright Zinc Sleeves, Stainless Shaft / Chrome Sleeves, or Bare Steel
  • Lifetime Warranty against bending*
  • 1205,000 PSI Steel (200,000 PSI For Stainless)

The Ohio Power Bar’s 29MM diameter steel shaft boasts a tensile strength of 205,000 PSI (200,000 PSI for Stainless), delivering superior rigidity and virtually zero whip/flex. Machined and assembled in Columbus, Ohio, the bar also features a snap-ring design and quality bronze bushings for a smooth, consistent feel.

  • 2Aggressive Knurl

The bar includes single powerlifting marks and a center knurl, each featuring a deep, coarse pattern that produces a reliable grip / stick without being sharp or abrasive. Perfecting this knurl pattern is both a science and an art. Every bar shaft is machined in Columbus on new Haas machines (built in the USA) and fine-tuned and personally tested by the Rogue team.

  • 3Three Finish Options

Depending on the look and feel you prefer, there is a version of the Ohio Power Bar right in your wheelhouse. The Zinc option (black shaft, bright sleeves) provides excellent corrosion resistance, the Bare Steel creates a classic look and natural feel, and the new Stainless Steel variation (with Chrome sleeves) strikes a balance between the two. • 4Use It With These Other Rogue Products

Ohio Power Bar owners can use this barbell in conjunction with a broad range of other top caliber Rogue powerlifting products, from the Westside Bench and R-3 Power Rack to deadlift bar jacks, Wagon Wheel plates, and Calibrated Steel Plates.

  • 5Lifetime Warranty

The Ohio Power Bar’s quality construction is backed by Rogue’s Lifetime Warranty against bending. This is a barbell equipped for high intensity, everyday use. Please Note: The warranty does not cover damage due to negligent or faulty use, alteration, maintenance, storage or handling by the user, i.e., dropping the bar on a box, bench, spotter arms or pins in a power rack, excessive dropping with insufficient or damaged bumpers, or excessive dropping with iron plates, and similar usage. Any specific issues regarding a Rogue product with which a customer is not satisfied will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • 6Fast Rogue Shipping

Orders placed by 3PM ship the same day. The Rogue Shipping System allows you to track your order from the time you place it to the time it hits your door. Order today, track today.

Please Note: Like any fine piece of machined steel, a bare steel barbell will require some upkeep. Occasionally brushing the bar down with 3-in-1 oil or WD-40 will create a beautiful patina look. This is how bars were made for decades and it really does produce an unmatched feel.

F Scale™
The F Scale™ is a durability scale for barbells based on functional testing at stresses similar to what barbells experience when being dropped from overhead. Bars that have been treated with Rogue Work Hardening (RWH™) are designated by having an R in their F Rating™. For more information on F Scale™ click here.

Oxidation Rate
The resistance of a barbell to oxidation depends on the type of steel and the coating. Barbells at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to preserve their appearance than barbells at the upper end of the spectrum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice bar! Just received my 45lb bar in bare steel. I deliberated for weeks in which power bar to get, between the Texas power bar, Vulcan, and some other companies.. I’m not disappointed that I chose the standard by which they’re all compared! It was well packaged and shipped / received faster than I expected. Compared to my Ohio 1.2 bar, the knurling is aggressive, sticks great, but doesn’t hurt; the sleeves spin about the same; and the fit/finish are the high quality I expect from Rogue. Initial impressions from first workout - stiff for squats/ no bounce out of the hole; the 29mm feels great during bench press; and the knurl/ grip was comfortable and like glue for deadlifts. Hands are very mildly raw after first workout. I’m very happy with this bar! My gym is in the basement, and I plan to clean chalk/ wipe the bar with oil after each workout, so I’m not worried about rust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great barbell Pricey, but you get what you pay for. You can feel the quality of the craftsmanship as soon as you wrap your hands around the bar. Great knurling, comfortable and overall a solid barbell. I am very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best bar i’ve ever used this is a beautiful bar and has served me very well in my home gym. i’ve left 405 on the bar over night and not a single bit of bending has occurred. this bar is beastly and the knurl is beastly as well. i would recommend this bar to anyone doing the main compound lifts but maybe not the classic 2 as the knurl is a little brutal to clean with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insanely Awesome Knurling I bought this bar a month ago (45 lb. version in stainless steel) after doing some pretty insane research. I probably watched every video and read every article and comment about every good quality barbell that's currently on the market. I've had the bar for about a month now and can say that it is hands down the best barbell I have ever owned. To anyone reading this that does not like aggressive knurling, be warned that you will probably not like this bar. When I first got it I felt the knurling on my first barbell (cheap, CAP Barbell off of Amazon) and then felt the knurling on this one and it is aggressive; however, it did not nor has it ever torn or cut my hands. Sure, it took about 5 days of weightlifting daily doing deadlifts, squats, bench press, and military press with it before my hands were used to it and yes, those 5 days were a little painful (my hands were just red and a little sore). But, now that my hands are used to it, the knurling honestly does not feel that aggressive and my hands are no longer sore after using it. Aside from the knurling, it does exactly what I bought it for and it does it well: powerlifting. It does not bend, the collars don't slide, the 29 mm bar feels great in my hands, I almost never have to use chalk, it sticks to my shirt when doing both front and back squats, it stays in my hands easily when doing bench press, and it looks really cool. Also, be aware that it has grooved instead of smooth sleeves. The grooves help keep the plates on if you aren't using collars. To me, I kind of like the sound when I am putting plates on or taking them off. If I am being picky, I'd say the only negative I have about this bar is that the stainless steel option doesn't come with stainless steel sleeves. Other than that, it's a fantastic bar and I am very happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Power Bar I started out building my home gym with the Rogue Ohio bar and while that bar has treated me well for five years, I wanted to get a Power Bar as I had started to participate in powerlifting and strengthlifting. The knurling on the Ohio Power Bar (OPB) does not appear to be negatively affected by the application of Cerakote. The OPB knurling is more aggressive than the Ohio bar, but not as aggressive as a Texas bar I've used in USPA comps. Once I load up squats above 300#, the middle knurling locks the bar in place on your back. You really can tell the difference with the knurling when you load it up on deadlifts. Having used it for approximately a month, I've adjusted to having the OPB in my hands compared to the regular Ohio bar. Lastly, the added diameter really does the trick with stiffening up the bar. Same Rogue quality I've come to respect. I'd give 6 stars if that was a thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the look and feel. My lovely wife got this for me as a gift, and this was one of the best gifts ever. I just love the cerakote finish and the bar just feels great and performs like what a rogue ohio power bar should. Thank you honey, I love you! Oh and also to Rogue. Thanks!
