Rogue R-3W Fold Back Wall Mount Rack

The Rogue R-3W Fold Back Wall Mount Rack is unlike anything we’ve built here before. Fully compatible with Infinity Series accessories, the unit functions like our standard W-4 power rack when set up--complete with a pair of 2x3” 11-gauge steel uprights, Westside hole spacing through the bench/rack pull zone, and 2”-on-center spacing above and below. With the R-3W’s unique hinge and pin system, though, you have the ability to quickly remove the pull-up bar after a workout, then literally fold the sides of the rack back against the wall to open up a massive amount of space.

The Fold Back Rack is available in two depths, 20.5” and 40.5”, and comes standard with a set of Infinity J-cups, 4 mounting brackets for installation*, and 4 detent pins to lock the rack into either the open position (ready for use) or closed position (against the wall). A set of UHMW plastic caps are also attached to the base of each upright to protect your floor and allow the sides of the rack to freely swing in and out.

When stowed away, the Fold Back Rack takes up less than 5” of space from the wall, meaning you can have a world class power rack in your garage without having to park your car on the street at night.

A Note on Depth Options: With the 20.5" depth unit, the sides of the rack will position flush against the wall whether your swing them inward (towards each other) or outward. With the 40.5” depth rack, the sides can still fold in or out, but if both are moved inward, there will be a slight overlap—so to open up max space, you’d want to fold either both sides outward or one inward and one outward.

*Important: Rogue does NOT recommend installing the Fold Back Rack on a wood, drywall, or metal stud wall without a stringer or additional support.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Folding Rack Money Can Buy Just got this puppy set up. Love it. Sturdy Rack... Very tough to set up alone, but I am not exceptional with tools. Just an average joe. My garage slopes and the rack has play in the mounts to account for it. So don't worry about the slope. I rated 4 out of 5 instead of the full 5 because in my mind you get 5 stars when things are "too good to be true". What I think rogue could do to make this "too good to be true" would be to include mounting kits in the squat rack. There would need to be different options for mounting kits for different setups you select in check out. This would be hard and I understand rogue is not in the mounting business so I understand why they don't. Also they could put better detail in the instructions for jack wagons like myself, but if I can figure it out then anyone can. Like I said, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and the rack is exactly what I was looking for. In order to go above and beyond I am thinking that they could put a little more attention to the mounting... Great Job Rogue! So I think they do offer services to come rig it up for you, but the reason this is not counting in my review is because that is a separate service that must be paid for. So Good job!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile & Durable I bought this wall-mount rack for my home gym. The entire family uses it. This rack is built to last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent piece of equipment! This has been a great purchase! It took me and my three kids (14,13 & 10) about 5 hours to assemble. Mr. Handyman I am not but can do some basics. Read the reviews and found a process that I could relate to. The instructions are not bad but are a little to vague in my opinion. The garage slope is where I was defeated. I have a shim under the one side for the off set. Rig is solid and supports my 6', 200 lbs frame easily. My kids can retract it and set it up fairly easily. They have to pay attention when hooking up the pull up bar. I am very happy with the purchase as I have all my Rouge purchase in the past.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rig was awesome, but... I just finished intalling the 40.5 inch version of the rig, and I've tested gymnastics movements and light weights. I'm 5'9" and I have just enough room for kipping movements, but I feel more comfortable doing ttb facing outward. Overall, everything is great and feels solid. For an amatuer DIY'er, I could have used some more specific instructions for installation. In addition, I had to drill through concrete for the bottom hangers and it took WAY too long. After that, I learned about a hammer drill. Thanks, youtube. In the end, it turned out great and we are happy with the rig. Here is the ridiculous amount of time it took me to install(I took eating breaks, but that's about it). 2-4 hours contemplating order options 1 hour contemplating best placement 1 hour unpack/break down boxes 2 hour prep/alignment/gather wood and hanger materials (screws, concrete anchors) 8 hours to install bottom two rig mounts into cement foundation lip. 7 hours to install top hangers and rig hardware(I had to add shims and I used the foundation lip to my advantage for vertical support).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outstanding BUT.... Gimme some shim-ability!! Considering most garage floors will have some slope - mine was 3/8" over the span of the rack - the UHMW plastic cap should come in a few sizes/thicknesses to get the rack perfectly level. The way the rack "floats" on the pins means even it's mounted level on the wall, it will find the slope on the floor. Feet of 1/8-3/4" thickness are all that's needed for the rack to be perfect. I had to use some black Starboard under 1 side. Other than that the rack is solid. The weight is supported by the legs not the wall. The "strip" was also a great addition for a dip bar and weight storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy Rigs! These two rigs have been super sturdy. We beat them up everyday. These were the best rigs that we could get to use in our small space. I could not be happier. I usually never fold them in as I just hate to remove the pull up bar on and off, but it is really easy to remove. Kipping can be done, but I do not attempt butterfly pull ups, you would need the larger rig for that amount of movement. One thing to remember is if you are going to put flooring down, make sure you do that before you install the rigs. Recently added on some storage pins to them and they look great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy System, but No Room for Kipping So far I love this system! We went for the 20.5" which proves to be too small for any kind of kipping, butterfly, or muscle ups. I am 6ft tall and my feet hit the wall and on the other side my head comes VERY close to hitting the bottom of the stringer. I talked to a representative and he told me the "dirty south pull up bar" will fit on the system, but it is not recommended for muscle up due to the bottom bar. Luckily, the box I recently quit has the dirty south bar and I know for a fact, my head will not hit the bottom bar! For $140 (shipping included), I ordered it even though it will take away the foldability. I am still giving this five stars, because it is not Rogue's fault I bought the 20.5 to save space in my garage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome quality and Rock Solid! Best for the money I originally installed this in late March 2016 but just re-installed it in our new 3rd car garage/garage box. Shopping list was simple: (2) 2x6x8 for stringer. (8) 1/2" x 2" lag screws with washers to attach rig to stringers. (16) to (20) 3/8" x 4" lag screws with washers to attach stringers to wall studs. I chose to not cut down my stringers which gave me storage space on either side. On the left, I have a 3-bar holder by Rogue and on the right, two hooks for belt, jump rope, and spring storage plus the hook to secure the climbing rope off to the side when not in use. When using the instructions that come with the rig, always remember to measure from the floor surface you'll be using so if on horse stall mats, put them down prior to drilling your pilot holes and installing stringers. Don't skip pilot holes, either. This will help prevent splitting the wood. I drilled 15/64" pilot holes for the 3/8" lag screws and 5/16" pilot holes for the 1/2" lag screws. As for installation, I can't stress enough to check, double-check measurements prior to drilling. If you do, it will line up perfectly. If not, you'll have a smattering of holes on your stringer in the wrong places. Also, after 7 months of use now, I love the rig. We rarely use the fold-back feature but love everything else and also use the matador dip attachment to do bar dips. Very strong and solid for any kind of workout you can throw at it. I'm 205lbs. One note for the tall folks: I'm 6'3" and just installed a stand-alone P-4 pull-up bar to give me more height. At the fold-back rig's max height, I can touch bar with feet flat on ground so for toes to bar and kipping, I have had to always bend my legs to prevent dragging them...just one thing to be aware of. Now, my wife has it at her height and I have my own via the P-4.
