Every Ohio Power Bar is precisely machined and assembled in Columbus, OH using US steel that is proven ideal for heavy powerlifting. We combine a 205,000 PSI tensile strength, low flexion shaft, IPF powerlifting knurl marks and our signature Ohio Power Bar knurling. The knurling is machined in a pattern that is deep and coarse, providing an ideal surface for heavy pulls without being sharp or abrasive. Additionally, it features a matching center knurl that adheres to your back when you need it most.

Our new low-profile sleeve design makes loading and unloading plates easier than ever. The precision-machined sleeve is then treated with our proprietary matte black process, significantly enhancing its resistance to corrosion and impact. This treatment ensures that the sleeves retain their appearance for a much longer duration compared to traditional sleeve finishes.

This graph correlates the F Rating™ of a barbell with different types of usage in order to predict the durable lifespan. Using this data, we are able to make recommendations on what F Rating™ is appropriate for different training situations. With a rating of F8-R, the Ohio Power Bar is rated to outlast a lifetime of lifting (50+ years) in a powerlifting facility or home gym.

TENSILE STRENGTH

Cerakote has been a game changer in the industry; a durable color finish—first popularized in the gun industry— that’s uniquely resistant to wear and corrosion over time. The versatility of this polymer-ceramic composite coating has enabled new, custom athlete designs like the THOR EDITION Ohio Power Bar, which includes mountainous strongman Hafthor Bjornsson’s nickname and the blue, red & white of his native Icelandic flag on the cerakote shaft. Each bar also now comes with our proprietary matte black sleeves, which are finished through a process that effectively transforms the surface of the steel rather than coating it. This greatly increases the sleeves’ long-term corrosion resistance and color endurance.
