Rogue HR-2 Half Rack

The customizable Rogue HR-2 Half Rack can be installed as a stand-alone unit or by converting an existing Monster Lite Series squat stand .

Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, the HR-2 features the same 2x3" 11-gauge steel base and 48" x 49" footprint as the SML-2, but incorporates an additional pair of 3x3” 11-gauge steel uprights and 17” crossmembers in the back of the unit. This gives the rack a huge amount of additional storage capacity and almost a foot and a half of inside depth for benching, rack pulls, and more. The Half Rack also offers a range of customizable options to best suit your needs—including the optional plate storage and pin/pipe safety sets, and a selection of different heights for the uprights themselves (90” or 108” for the front; 70” or 90” for the back).

IMPORTANT: If you already own a Rogue Monster Lite Squat Stand (SML-1, SML-2, or SML-3) and wish to convert it to an HR-2, we offer a Half Rack Conversion Kit that would include all the components and hardware you’ll need.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Built like a tank Decided to upgrade my home gym during the pandemic since commercial gyms were no longer an option, and this is the crown jewel. This rack is STURDY. Assembling it by myself was a little tough but doable. If you've got an assembly partner, putting it together should be a cakewalk. I also grabbed some accessories along with the rack (spotter arms, dip attachment, and plate pegs). The reason this isn't a 5-star review is that the triangular plates you use to attach the uprights to the base prevent me from using the spotter arms to perform certain exercises (namely, rack pulls). This might not be an issue for taller people, but as a shorter guy, I can't set the arms low enough because those triangle plates get in the way. I'll also say, if you want to protect your barbells, definitely upgrade to the sandwich j-cups that have protective coating all-around rather than just lining the inside of the j-cup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect rack for home gym I bought this in September to finally achieve the dream of having a home gym. I had space in my unfinished basement and needed something that didn't need to be bolted to the floor or wall since it's all concrete. This doesn't have a super large footprint, it's a great size. I looked around for a while at a lot of brands and settled on this because I knew the quality would be worth it. Totally worth it. I put the whole thing together by myself and just needed some larger wrenches. Directions were easy and everything went together without and issues. I fully expect this to last me forever. To start on use-ability I should clarify that I'm 6'3" and 205 lbs and I don't do crossfit, just normal working out. Lifting inside the rack can be a little tough if you're tall because of the bars that connect to the back part of the rack. I'm not lifting heavy so I'm comfortable lifting on the front of the rack. I can also comfortably do pull ups with or without weight racked on the arm attachments. Sidenote: if you put arm attachments for weight racking on then you may not be able to put the J cups in every single spot because there could be bolts in the way which is a super minor issue and doesn't affect me at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect This is the best ever. Perfect for any crossfitter. So sturdy and versatile. For the space it takes. Could not for anything better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fit Really just wanted a squat rack, but also wanted plate storage. HR-2 was perfect for that, after adding the channel plate storage posts to the uprights. This thing is VERY sturdy and went together easily using an impact driver. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome unit I thought this item would be bulky in my gym to find it’s quite airy looking. I absolutely love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rogue HR-2 Review - a must have Package arrived over a 2 day period ahead of schedule. Put together in less that 30 minutes. Rack is extremely sturdy and allows for more workout options in my garage gym. Welded up my own custom bench and weight holders. Thanks Rogue - Awesome product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for home gym!! Or any gym really. I like the smaller size of this rack as it fits great in a spare bedroom. I really can't think of anything I can critic about it. I do primary lifts, pull-up/chin-ups, and even row work with a TRX strapped to the pullup bar; it super stable for everything. I also use the matador attachment for dips (although I think it's officially only recommended for bolted down setups). I would recommend this over a full rack, unless you really need the extra footprint for something. For reference I lift outside of the rack and store weights on the shorter uprights. I also purchased a set of safety spotter arms. Everything works really well together; the quality control on hole tolerances is great. The Monster "Lite" series is more robust than stuff at commercial gyms. Quality equipment that will last a lifetime.
