Rogue HR-2 Half Rack

The customizable Rogue HR-2 Half Rack can be installed as a stand-alone unit or by converting an existing Monster Lite Series squat stand .

Manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, the HR-2 features the same 2x3" 11-gauge steel base and 48" x 49" footprint as the SML-2, but incorporates an additional pair of 3x3” 11-gauge steel uprights and 17” crossmembers in the back of the unit. This gives the rack a huge amount of additional storage capacity and almost a foot and a half of inside depth for benching, rack pulls, and more. The Half Rack also offers a range of customizable options to best suit your needs—including the optional plate storage and pin/pipe safety sets, and a selection of different heights for the uprights themselves (90” or 108” for the front; 70” or 90” for the back).

IMPORTANT: If you already own a Rogue Monster Lite Squat Stand (SML-1, SML-2, or SML-3) and wish to convert it to an HR-2, we offer a Half Rack Conversion Kit that would include all the components and hardware you’ll need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect setup! I purchased this setup a few weeks ago and so far it's been a great garage setup! Very table for pull ups/ dips. . . I can do every exercise I typically do at the commercial gyms at home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Half Rack with one draw back Have used it for a few weeks and has been a great sturdy rack. The only problem is that all the movable parts cause a lot of friction. So after just a week of use, the nice new paint is already being scratched and stripped away. This could easily be resolved with a piece of plastic between the parts. It would have been nice if the parts came with a plastic divider to protect the paint of the rack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rogue: top notch as always I originally purchased the Monster flat foot rack. Had it for a while but the space between the uprights was not enough for me. I then upgraded to the RM-4 rack. That was a beast however, I found myself lifting mostly outside of the cage. I finally downsized to the HR-2. I wish I went with my instincts and ordered this first. I added a cross member in the back of this rack for storage and for side to side stability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for small spaces This rack was perfect for my small apartment as the 90" model easily stayed well under my ceiling height restrictions, even with 1-inch thick rubber flooring underneath. Squatting using the spotter arms feels very safe as long as you make sure not to fall backwards while bailing from the weight. Benching with a spotter is entirely possible as well, which was actually one of my concerns since I wasn't too sure how much depth the rack really provided to allow for another body behind the bench. My only complaint is that dropping the weight of an Olympic lift gets kind of precarious when you have the rack's long feet to work around. Also, there exists some sideways sway if you purposely try to wobble the rack. Otherwise, the thing is very solid and overbuilt. It doesn't even budge when if you dive forward to sloppily rack the bar after a squat. I can't wait to get more accessories for my half rack! I highly recommend getting this rack if your situation matches mine: you want to lift at home and can't possibly cram a standard squat rack into your space.
