The Rogue SML-1 Monster Lite Squat Stand combines elements from the 70” stands of our standard S-Series and Monster line to create a versatile hybrid unit. The uprights are constructed from the same 3x3” 11-gauge steel tubing as the Monster SM-1, but with the 5/8” hardware and Westside hole spacing of the S-1.

Equally well suited to a small garage gym or large-scale weight training center, the SML-1 Squat Stand stands six feet tall and operates within an efficient 48"x49" footprint. It’s an American-built squat stand as dynamic and durable as many power racks, available at an affordable price.

*If you’re interested in a Monster Lite Squat Stand with a pull up bar option, consider the larger Monster Lite 90" Squat Stand or the Monster Lite 108" Squat Stand.

*Due to no pull-up bar connecting the uprights of the SML-1, certain attachments such as the Monster Lite Matador and Plate Storage Posts are not recommended. Use of these accessories in conjunction with the SML-1 Squat Stand can cause severe injury to the user and damage the equipment.

Key Features of the SML-1 Squat Stand:

  • 1Heavy Gauge American Steel and Hardware

The SML-1 is manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, using (2) heavy-duty 11-gauge 3x3" square laser-cut steel uprights and (3) 2x3” 11-gauge steel base tubes for optimal stability. The unit includes laser-cut 5/8" diameter holes and SAE grade 5 bolt hardware. The finish is our signature black powdercoat.

  • 2Space Efficiency

As the most compact member of the Monster Lite Squat Stands, this unit fits easily into most home gyms and garage gyms, or into a tight corner of a larger training facility. The standard construction stands 6 ft. tall with a total footprint of just 48” x 49”.

  • 3Fit, Finish & Warranty

Every weld and laser-cut at Rogue is inspected individually at each step of the process for integrity and appearance. Every part is again individually inspected for finish after the powder coat process. The entire package receives a final comprehensive quality assurance check before it’s shipped. Once in use, the SML-1 is guaranteed by Rogue for Life.

  • 4Combine with Other Rogue Products

Owners of a Monster Lite Squat Stand can customize their system with the addition of a wide range of compatible tools and accessories. Along with adding a bar, bench, or plates to your order, you can customize the stand with a set of Monster Lite Safety Spotter Arms, a Wheel Bracket Set for portability, or a pair of Floor Mounting Feet (all available to add to your order via the dropdown menu). A Single Bar Holder attachment also makes a great add-on for storage.

  • 5Package Includes Everything to Get Started

Even without custom additions, the SML-1 comes with all of the hardware and basic accessories necessary to have a pro-caliber squat stand at your disposal. This includes all necessary 5/8” bolts and fasteners and a pair of Monster Lite J-Cups with protective UHMW plastic inserts.

SML-1 Rogue 70" Monster Lite Squat Stand is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 328.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value and features!! I bought this stem back in March and I’m totally satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Bought this for my home gym, and love it. It’s what you’d expect from Rogue; solid, high quality and with spotter arms a really terrific piece of equipment. Only ding is that holes have no numbers or markings so adjusting the hooks or spotter arms takes a bit more effort than it should.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for your home gym This squat stand is perfect for your home gym. It’s easy to assemble and sturdy. You can add a few accessories to get even more out if it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT INVESTMENT Convenient to work out at home. A drive to the gym takes time, put you into flexion so stretching consumes time and waiting for a rack to open. Yes, Valor 55s are inside but at this time my orders with Rogue aren't going through, get what you can get. Weight sleeved on Rogue Ohio Power Bar as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No discount I bought 3 items n due to covid they all couldn’t be shipped the same time so the 3 item discount shipping was null n void. Not happy about that

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent basic squat stand 1. Rogue represented that they would need two to four weeks from the date of my order to make the rack, and that there might be additional delays related to shipping. In fact, I had the rack about two weeks after I ordered it, so Rogue under-promised and over-delivered here. 2. If you have adjustable wrenches or two of the right size, the rack is easy to set up. an assistant is helpful for lining up the bolt holes when assembling the uprights. the rack does not have rubber feet, so I put a square of rubber cut from a stair tread under each corner. 3. the rack is absolutely great for its intended purpose: squats, presses, and bench presses. Some reviewers have mentioned that the rack will move when re-racking a heavy squat. I regret to say that I will never be strong enough to have this problem. In re-racking the sub-200 lb weights at which I and members of my family are squatting, the rack has not moved even a quarter of an inch. If you are strong enough to be concerned about this, I would think that assembling the rack close to a wall and adding chocks between the frame of the rack and the wall would solve the problem. 4. If you are not particularly tall (I am 5’ 9”) and are willing to tuck your feet up behind you, you can do pullups in this rack by putting the J-cups in the top position and using your barbell as a pull-up bar. Because of the sturdy build of the rack and the position of the uprights at the mid-point of the base this feels absolutely stable to me. 5. I have a Rogue Ohio Power Bar with the narrow collars. Because of those narrow collars the plates are close to the uprights when the barbell is sitting in the J-cups, and if I am inattentive in backing out to squat the plates can brush the uprights which can be disconcerting when the load is heavy (for me). I have learned to be attentive about taking the bar out square to the rack when squatting and bench pressing. Knowing what I now know, I might have chosen a barbell with thicker collars, to have given myself a bit more clearance when taking the bar out of the rack. But this is a very minor issue, and not a criticism of either the bar or the rack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way more sturdy than expected. This thing is a beast. So sturdy, great aesthetics and easy to put together!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly sturdy Decided to finally start building a home gym and got this because it was a cheaper option and it’s handled my heaviest squats with ease. The only thing that I wish I could do with this squat stand is banded work
