RML-3WC Fold Back Rack In Action

Rogue RML-3WC Fold Back Wall Mount Rack

Space Saving Power Rack, Made in the USA

The Rogue Custom Color Fold Back Rack includes all the features of our original retractable Monster Lite RML-3W Power Rack, with the added ability to select your own color finish for the unit's 90" uprights.

The central design challenge with the Fold Back Rack was to come up with a wall-mount unit that could be folded inward or outward for optimal space efficiency, yet still offer the sturdiness of our standard Monster Lite power racks. To achieve this, our engineering team developed a unique hinge-and-pin system that is both easy to install and rock solid. In use as a squat stand, pull up rig, or power rack, the feel is miles beyond lighter fold-back setups that use thinner steel.

The RML-3WC Fold-Back Rack is manufactured in Columbus, Ohio, and includes two laser-cut, 3x3" 11 gauge steel uprights, with Westside hole spacing through the bench/pull area and 2"-on-center spacing above and below. All steel is powder coated in the Rogue factory for a durable finish, with 11 custom color options to choose from.

Stringers Included Standard

For optimal support, we’re including a pair of stringers with any Custom Color Fold Back Rack order. Made from laser-cut and formed 3x3" 11 gauge steel, these stringers measure 59" long x 10.125" tall, and extend 0.8125" off the mounting surface when installed. One stringer is used to mount the top hinge brackets and the other for the bottom hinge brackets.

If you'd prefer to use your own stringers, you can choose to remove the Rogue stringers from your order via the dropdown menu on this page. You can learn more about our Fold Back Rack Stringers in the Key Features section below.

  • 1Heavy Gauge American Steel & Hardware

The RML-3W uses heavy-duty 11 gauge 3x3" 11 gauge steel uprights with 0.625" diameter SAE grade 5 bolt hardware. Laser cut holes and heavy duty hardware maintain maximum strength. The RML-3W rack is compatible with most of our exclusive ML accessories and add-ons. Start with the Fold-Back as your base, and build your arsenal over time. The RML-3W is guaranteed by Rogue for Life.

  • 2Choice of Depth

The Fold Back Rack is available in two depths: 21.5" and 41.5". In the 21.5" version, the sides of the rack will position flush against the wall whether you swing them inward (towards each other) or outward. With the 41.5" depth rack, the sides can still fold in or out, but if both are moved inward, there will be a slight overlap—so to open up max space, you'd want to fold either both sides outward or one inward and one outward. For most setups the 21.5" is the best choice. Choose 41.5" if you need more space in the rack for gymnastic movements.

  • 3Choice of Color

Customers can order the RML-3WC rack in a wide range of custom color finishes, available to choose from the order menu. Make a personal statement or tie in your power rack with a high school, college, or pro team’s colors. The crossmembers, hinges, and pull-up bar on the Custom Color Fold Back Rack will retain a Rogue Signature textured black powder coat finish, no matter which upright color is selected.

  • 4Space Efficiency

The detent pins included with the Fold Back Rack conveniently lock the rack into either the open position (ready for use) or closed position (against the wall). When stowed away, the rack takes up less than 5" of space from the wall, meaning you can have a world-class power rack in your garage without having to park your car on the street at night. Maximize your space with our efficient Wall Storage options to save even more space.

  • 5Easy Installation + Stringers

Each unit comes standard with a Quick-Attach Pull-Up Bar, (4) mounting brackets for installation + all necessary hardware, a set of J-cups, and (4) detent pins. Having holes 2" on center allows for some choices in mounting the swing arms, which can be important if you need foundation clearance. We’ve also included a pair of 11-gauge steel stringers at no extra cost, which are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for securing the unit securely. These stringers feature pre-cut slots, allowing users to mount them to a standard wood stud wall (4 studs required for installation). All required hardware (16.375" x 2.5" black wood lags and washers) is included with the stringers, but any customers attempting to mount to a wall construction other than wood stud will be responsible for acquiring the correct hardware.
Important: Rogue does NOT recommend installing the Fold Back Rack on a wood, drywall, or metal stud wall without a stringer or additional support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This system is a monster I felt that this was going to be good equipment but I have to tell you when it arrived I was like OMG, what have I done? This far surpasses any equipment I have ever owned in my entire life in my house. The heck with needing to go to the gym. In the beginning I was a little freaked out about installing it because my garage is finished and I'm a little mathematically challenged when it came to making certain I had the stringers in the right place. So what I had to do was put the system together and then place it up against the wall so that I didn't have any issues and it actually turned out to be a lot easier than I thought it would be, that is with the help of my wife. Out here in Hurricane country my whole house could blow away and this system would still be standing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect rack for my garage! Ordered this folding rack to add yet another element to my garage workout space. It arrived in great condition. There was a small delay in getting one of the pieces, but nothing bad enough to note. Set up was easy. I bought the stringer for the wall, for finished look as well as stability. The folding mechanism works great! I have it out most of the time, but when i need to fold it back its a breeze. If you have an uneven floor, there is enough give in it to lift it slightly as you are folding it to overcome that. It is great quality. I definitely recommend this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for any small area! Ordered on New Years Day, got everything in about 15 days. Set up took about 4 straight hours with a myself and my husband. Two men could've gotten it done a little quicker. Most challenging part of the installation was having to hold the metal stringer up while my husband drilled in the bolts into the wall. After the stringer was installed, everything else fell into place pretty quick. Quick tip: 2 adjustable wrenches really helped us out with the rest of the installation. Overall, this baby is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product, tough install So, let's get the good, the hmmm, and the bad out of the way. Then we'll get to my recommendations for installation. The Good: Amazing quality. This things is solid. After installation, there is no give anywhere. I live in an HOA that requires two cars to be parked in the garage, so saving space was absolutely crucial for me. I love the extend-ability of the rack also. I've only purchased the 3-bar holder attachment, but I do plan to add more to it over time. The included stringers are amazingly built and I do recommend that you get them. While I don't have comparisons from installing without them, it seems like they helped make the installation somewhat easier--in terms of lining things up. The Hmmm: I went with the 41.5" model expecting to need it for kipping. I'm 6'2" 190lbs. I will have to bend my legs to do strict pull-ups on this. I am not sure I can kip on it. In hindsight, I may have been able to get away with the smaller version, but time will tell. Also, the instructions called for certain socket sizes, but that didn't seem to be the case when I began installing it. For example, the wood lag screws were supposedly 3/8, but I needed a 9/16 socket to drive them in. I'm a complete beginner to this stuff though...so maybe it's just me. The Bad: Shipping was incredibly frustrating with a lack of solid information and communication from both Rogue and UPS. I was pretty disappointed with the process overall. In the end, Rogue tried to make good with a credit, but I'm still upset with how it went down and their shrug your shoulders kind of attitude about it. Installation: I've never installed something like this before. I've never drilled anything into my walls. All-in-all, this install took me and a friend about 3.5 hours. Most of it was spent just trying to overcome the issues I had with my stud finder and measuring, measuring, measuring. I'm sure someone with more experience could do this much faster. Things you'll need: * A friend * Some beer * An impact driver with a socket adapter. For some reason, Rogue's instructions said the bolts and screws they included were 5/8 and 3/8, but I needed to use different sized sockets. That seems weird to me. * A drill for the pilot holes you will need put into the studs * Some hand wrenches that match the correct socket sizes * A 4-foot level * A "good" stud finder -- mine seemed less than reliable, so I used a hammer and a nail and walked the nail over to ensure I found the edges of the studs, then measured 3/4" from the edge to the middle. * A plumb bob. I didn't have this, but man would it have been helpful in identifying the exact location for the bottom stringer holes instead of having to remeasure everything. Install Method (how I did it): * Start drinking the beer * Mount the brackets to the stringers * Figure out where you want to mount the stringers to the wall -- measure, measure, and measure again! I figured I only had one shot at this, so I measured several times. This was the most time consuming part. My stud finder was bogus, so I had to find the studs manually, this took a long time. * Have you measured? Okay, it's go time! Drill the pilot holes * Hold up the stringers and ensure you're level. Use the impact driver to put the lag screws in. Now your stringers are mounted. * Put these feet onto the posts. I read some people had issues getting these on. I got them on easily by placing them as far into the post as they would go by hand, then smashing the post onto the ground, which pushed them right into place. No issues at all using this method. * Mount the cross members to the posts * Finally, attach the cross members to the mounting brackets * Profit The feet of the posts rest perfectly on the ground once installed and there is about 1/2" of allowable movement up or down on the cross members, which is good cause I may want to put mats down later on. In the end, I'm thrilled to have this installed. It's rock solid and extremely high quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great rack and very solid. I am glad I made this purchase and not a free-standing rack. Having it anchored to the wall make for greater stability.
