Westside Inverse Curl

Legendary strength coach Louie Simmons has called it “the greatest hamstring developer in the world." Now, Westside Barbell's innovative Inverse Curl Machine is available to order from Rogue.

Made in the USA from 4x3" and 3x3” 11-gauge steel, this 605 LB unit is designed to help athletes perform proper glute ham raises (Russian leg curls), with assistance provided in the form of adjustable pad settings and custom weight load options. When used properly, the Inverse Curl works the entire posterior chain, initiating a firing pattern in the lower body muscles that develops greater athletic-oriented strength and explosiveness (be it for throwing, sprinting, jumping, lifting, etc.). It can also help potentially limit the likelihood of common hamstring and ACL injuries, and/or assist those already rehabbing from such injuries.

To use the Inverse Curl, the athlete kneels on the flat pad/bench and places their feet against the steel footplate, under either set of adjustable roller pads. The adjustable chest pad is then held in the arms for stabilization as the athlete lowers and raises their upper body, putting the focus of the movement on the hamstrings.

Note: This product is made to order and all returns carry a 20% restock fee for the standard black colorway.  All sales are final for custom colors.

It's a shame that Rogue basically made the Westside Inverse Curl worse. What was once a great partnership with Westside and carrying on Louie's legacy by taking over manufacturing for all of his products they seemed to have stoped as soon as he died. From the entire Westside catalog down to just 2 machines. You can't really screw up the standing leg curl but somehow with the Inverse Curl they dropped the ball. 1. They severely limited the machine's versatility by constructing the counter weight arm to have vertically loaded plates instead of the original side loaded plates. The housing around the weight arm and the adjustment dial design have all coincided with removing the ability to flip the counter weight over and using this machine for other movements like good mornings/back extensions, ab work, even tricep pushdowns and so much more. For a company that tends to cater to home gyms they could've had an all in one machine but for some reason they said no. 2. Speaking of putting this in your home gym...good luck because its enormous. seemingly twice the size of the original. Props to Rogue for always overbuilding their equipment but jeez you didn't have to make this the size of a car. 3. As far as price point goes this is appropriately priced and similar to what Westside use to sell it for all be it seemingly too expensive since its uses are extremely limited. The price point on the standing leg curl though is insane although I don't doubt the quality of that particular piece. My suggestion...order the original from Dynamic or Elite FTS to get more bang for your buck. In conclusion like I said its a shame that Rogue dropped the ball when it comes to the Inverse Curl. Aside from all of the other Westside machines that Rogue doesn't manufacture anymore, the Inverse Curl is legendary piece for athletic development. Rogue has the ability to promote this machine to the moon and have it in every gym, every University weight room, and every Physical Therapy clinic. One of the greatest antidotes to ACL injuries but I feel with it's limited use due to the design changes we will never see it's fullest potential.

This things a tank!
After using this a couple of times you’ll notice that it trains a different spot of the hamstring when compared to GHR, laying/seated curls, SLDLs or even a 45 degree hyper. Came fully assembled but can be taken apart to fit through a regular door. Even taken apart it’s super heavy so bring help!
