ROGUE HI-TEMP COMPETITION TRAINING PLATES

Hi-Temp's Competition Training Plates are made from recycled vulcanized rubber with a 2” stainless steel insert—producing maximum durability and a consistent dead bounce. The Competition model, available here with Rogue branding, introduces a new mix that delivers a smoother finish with no decrease in strength from the standard Hi-Temp Rogue Bumpers. A greatly reduced plate width / thickness also enables the loading of more weight on the barbell.

Hi-Temp has been manufacturing plates for more than a decade at their plant in Tuscumbia, Alabama, and they remain among the few American bumper plate producers in the industry. By no coincidence, they also rank among the very best—vouched for by trainers, gym owners, and competitive lifters, and used at some of the highest levels of competition.

The collar on Hi-Temp bumpers is inset from the plane of the plate, allowing for better protection when multiple plates are on the bar, and reducing the risk of inserts getting impacted or popping out. The Competition Training Plate's updated smooth black finish is also complemented with new bright colored text (pink, green, yellow, and blue) for the weight measurement and Rogue branding.

You can order your plates individually (15LB, 25LB, 35LB, or 45LB) or in a full 210LB set or 240LB set. See the order menu to select your preferred combination.

Please Note: As with most crumb rubber plates, this manufacturing process can sometimes create minor aesthetic imperfections.

Rogue Hi-Temp Competition Training Plates is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color coming off and rusting Color started coming off within a month of buying. Plates are kept indoors 24/7 and started to rust within a couple months. Pretty disappointed with the quality when I paid for a whole freaking set.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy as advertised I bought these along with an Ohio Bar (and later a rig). The weights showed up first and I've used them every day since. Overall I'm extremely happy. They seem like a solid buy. I've got some horse mats if I choose to dropping the bar, but dropping the bar at home is loud, so I think I've only done it twice as a test. The colored metal in the middle seems to be powder coated, and scratches easily when frequently loaded/unloaded from the barbell. The hole in the middle gets the most abuse. Initially it was coming off so fast that the sides of the ohio bar looked like they'd go through a color run. But TBH I don't care that much about the paint, they are still heavy and get the job done. The only other gripe, is that as advertised there's 15,25,35,45 lb plates. There are not 5 or 10 lb plates to match, so you're always going up/down in 20 - 30 lb incraments. I'll buy some unmatching plates ultimately to provide some better granularity in scaling.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Overall Bumper, bad paint job These plates looked and felt amazing coming out of the box, but we use them in a therapeutic clinic setting and like another comment I saw, the paint continues to chip on them with just loading. They perform well, but if you want to maintain a look and know what size you are picking up in the future you may want to buy another product. Sorry Rogue, can you resolve this?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Meets Expectations, but a bit annoying. I have a variety of weights from Rogue and they are all spectacular, but these left something to be desired. I wanted to get these as I wanted to get a 15lb weight with a metal insert to be used for high volume workouts, and though I wasn't too fired up about the pink, I thought, whatever, it will be a laugh. Well, my buddies and I have used them in about a dozen workouts and they continue to chip being taken on and off the barbell, and during the workouts. I don't think we are being overly aggressive with the weights but the powder coating seems more like rattle can paint, and is resulting in a lot of sweeping pink "chalk." The lettering on the rubber part looks like simple spray on also, not the raised look on the normal hi-temps. Unless you really want color, I would just stick with the echo plates. Also, they don't ship from Columbus, which resulted in about a two week delay in my case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like I'll be the first... I will preface this review with two caveats: 1) The real test of bumper plates is how they stand up over time, and these are still basically brand new (had them for 2 weeks; used them for 4 deadlift workouts and 4 squat workouts, plus a handful of power cleans). 2) I'm writing from the perspective of a home-gym owner who uses the equipment exclusively in a garage on horse stall mats, just 2 of us (myself and my wife), not to the degree of 5-WOD-a-day abuse that these might get at a box or in an Oly gym. With that said - these have lived up to my hopes. I wanted to buy American-made, and thus far have not been disappointed. I bought four pairs of 45's and four pairs of 15's to outfit a nice "his and hers" garage gym, and both my wife and I have been delighted with the plates. I've deadlifted up to 495 and the plates feel absolutely rock-solid, look great, and seem to be built for the long haul. As noted above, the real test will be how they hold up to 10-20-30 years of use, but for anyone looking to buy American-made bumper plates that needs to fit well over 405 on the bar, the early returns are pretty good.
