Rogue R-3 Power Rack

The Rogue Version of the Classic Westside Barbell Rack

Part of the Rogue Infinity R-Series, our original R-3 Power Rack features 2x3" 11 Steel Gauge uprights (Standard - 90"
Shorty - 84" tall) with 5/8” holes in the Westside pattern—1" through the bench & clean pull zone, 2” spacing above and below. *The Shorty version chops off 6" in height for a better fit in basements or other rooms with lower ceiling heights. The R-3 design was adapted from the model that helped build champion powerlifters at Westside Barbell here in Columbus, OH, and it’s been a staple of our own arsenal for years.

The R-3 offers superior durability and versatility, but it’s also the most compact member of the R-Series, with a 24” inside depth and an overall footprint of just 53” x 34”. This makes the unit equally well suited to a collegiate / pro training facility or a home / garage gym. A 43” Fat/Skinny Pull-Up Bar, along with sets of Infinity J-Cups, Pin/Pipe Safeties, and Band Pegs, are included with the package. You can make multiple custom additions to your order using the choices from the drop down menu on this page.

Important: This rack must be bolted to the floor before use.

Variations on the R-3 Power Rack include:
The R-3W Fold Back Wall-Mount Rack
The Bolt-Together R-3 Rack

Rogue R-3 Power Rack is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 91.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, Stable, Safe I've been lifting out of this rack for a few weeks now, having anchored it anchored to the concrete floor in my basement. There is a slight bit of wiggle side to side (maybe about 1/2" at the top), but there is virtually no movement in the front/back direction. This is rock solid and I feel very safe performing heavy squats and bench presses in it. The Westside spacing is also incredible, and makes the pin/pipe safeties much more pragmatic. You can set them with enough precision that they catch the bar when your back is flat, but don't touch it when you arch up for bench presses. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this and the most common concern was the relatively shallow depth compared to bigger racks like the R4. I'm not sure how those people are setting up for their squats, but if you un-rack and take one step back, there is plenty of room to move and I've never unintentionally hit the uprights. If you find yourself hitting the uprights in this rack when you are centered in it, it's probably a sign that you need to take a serious look at your squat form. As a side note, I can also perform standing overhead presses in this rack. I'm 5'10" with relatively normal proportions, and there's about an inch of clearance between the bar and the cross member at the top of the press. I should note that I haven't put any flooring down yet, which would diminish that clearance if the rack isn't elevated with the flooring as well. I should also note that using the pin/pipes and j-hooks is incredibly easy compared to the cheaper racks that I've used. The rods appear to be machined slightly small to provide just enough wiggle room for easy insertion/removal, and there are no hear-ringing metal-on-metal screeches. This is especially nice considering I'm using the rack in an enclosed concrete basement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesom I have used the infinity rack at the gym for several years. This is my first purchase from Rogue. I could not be happier. It is perfect for me. I was concerned about the depth for squats, but I am having no trouble at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dad..What’s a rack? It’s a small country! No but seriously. This things a tank. I had my heart set on the RML series because I thought it would just look more beastly but honestly, I’m glad I went with the R-3. For one, the extra one inch you get on each side when racking and un-racking makes a difference so your not banging your weights up against the uprights when lifting out for your heavy squat Love the 3 piece construction and heavy duty bolts. Highly recommended for your first or only rack

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for My Garage Gym I love everything about this rack, the size the quality. The only thing that I dislike about it are the safety bars (there's a black thick pole and a thin gray one that goes inside the black) there should only be 1 in my opinion. Also the number of holes the rack has to place the safety bars (they're ever half inch it seems like instead of bigger gaps). I'll have to mark the holes so I can switch the safety bars in and out faster instead of guessing where it might go next.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but not perfect I've been using the R-3 for the last three weeks for the main lifts (squat, press, bench). The listed dimensions are true, and I have zero problems squatting in the rack; it's the perfect size, in my opinion, for a power rack. Assembly is an absolute breeze -- all you need to do is bolt the pull-up bar across the top. The finish on the metal is nice, but be mindful that it is not perfect -- straight out of the box, there was a large scratch/dent on each upright from machining. The pull-up bar is excellent, and the finish they use feels great. J-cups are surprisingly stable relative to racks I've used in the past; in general, they don't swing out when loading plates onto the bar or when getting the bar situated. I use the included band pegs to hold plates < 10 pounds down low -- very convenient. I have two main problems with this rack: (1) There are no markings on the holes. It's tough to remember pin settings from one workout to the next, and I wish that the rack shipped with numbered holes. (2) There is too much side-to-side wobble. I have the rack lag-screwed into my platform (2" of new plywood), and it is solid as a rock front-to-back. However, there is at least an inch of side-to-side wobble, measured at the top of the rack, when loading and unloading plates. I don't know if this is due to how it's mounted to the platform (i.e., bolting it into concrete will eliminate the problem), the rigidity of the 2x3 uprights (i.e., sturdier steel will eliminate the problem), or the width at the bottom relative to the width at the top. If I could do everything over, I might widen the rack up slightly at the bottom (+0.5-1.0" or so) so that the rack is aligned more like a pyramid. One last note: four of the bolt holes are underneath the bottom cross-member. This means that you will have to position the rack, mark the holes, move the rack out of the way, drill the holes, move the rack back into place, and bolt/screw it down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I bought this about a month ago and am still just stunned how awesome it is to have this in my own basement gym! I got the shorty version due to my ceiling height. I had to install the multi grip bar upside down so it would work with the low clearance and it works great. I’m 6 feet tall and I can do all my squat movements with ease in this rack. I also bench inside the rack. It’s not huge but once you’re used to it it works great, especially if space in your home gym is at a premium! I attached the landline attachment and love that as well. Shipping was very quick. I received in less than a week!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unlimited capabilities Purchased this a few weeks ago and it has given me a lot of opportunities to lift. Spotted arm being included is a huge plus, makes band work super easy and functional to set up. Lastly this piece is solid! Never wavers no matter how weight tests it!
