Monster Lite Sandwich J-Cup Pair

Tested at more than 1,000LB, these J-Cups have 3.5" depth and lock around two sides of the upright--increasing the structural integrity and reducing the risk of an athlete jarring a cup loose when racking the bar from below. A UHMW plastic core sits in the center of the "sandwich" to keep the barbell as safe as the person using it.

Please Note: These accessories are designed ONLY for use with the Monster Lite Line of products. For Echo Systems see Extra Echo J-cup Set . For Infinity Systems see Extra Infinity J-cup Set . For Monster Systems see Rogue Monster J-cups .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Picked up two pairs, perfect quality Bought two pairs during MBF to use with my new RML 490. Protects the bar very well. Solid build. I think you could drop these off a high-rise and they would be damaged at all. Racking and unracking the bar is very easy on these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sandwich J Cups This is my third set of these hooks. I have them at various points on my rack, so I only need to move a bar to change between bench, squat and press. These sit solid on the rack uprights, and if you don’t want to scuff up your nice bar over time with a heavy or the odd miss timed re-rack, these are stand out the best! Don’t get me wrong, the standard hooks do the job, but seriously, as somebody else has said before, for a manufacturer that prides itself on quality, these hooks should be the base standard with any rack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad, but a bit bulky I bought these instead of the normal J-cups with my RML-690. I’ve now gone back and placed an order for the normal J-cups. While I like these overall, they do not play nicely with the safety straps - particularly on the bench. Even though I’m a fairly tall guy, I find I have to have the two pieces (strap and j-cup) too close together, such that I can’t remove the straps again until after I’ve moved the J-cups. They work fine for lifts where there’s more separation between the two, e.g. squats, but I really struggle with them on the bench. Quality product otherwise, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product Much better than the standard jcups for sure. the Standard work fine but the little extra clearance on the sandwich j cups are definitely a positive...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid These are excellent J-cups. I mean what else can one say, they're J-cups. They do their job while adding extra protection for your bar. As for people saying they "sway" too much.... I have no clue what they are doing to cause this. I mean if you have a bar on them and want to center it and just drag it..... yeah... they're rotate a bit. I mean the connection point is just a peg that goes through the rack - what do you think is going to happen. I would assume this same thing would happen with ANY J-cup as they all only attach through the rack with that one peg. I've had 0 problems with "swaying" or them not staying in the spot I want them to stay in. That said, I bought these with my 490 rack to replace the standard J-cups. I also replaced the pin/pipe safety setup for the safety straps when I ordered. With the safety straps having a little bit of metal above the connection peg to the rack coupled with these much larger J-cups..... for Bench Press I can't get the J-Cups to the hole I'd like to get them on, 1 more lower. This is because if I wanted to put it there I'd have to lower my safety strap one hole and right now that is at the PERFECT height. Also.... I'd rather have the safety there for... you know... safety reasons. So as a result, on bench I have the cups 1 hole probably too high. Makes it a bit tricky to unrack and rerack. Some would rag on this saying it's a "design flaw" and give it 1 star. Me on the other hand am rational. These work SUPERBLY for every other exercise in the rack. For bench they even work beautifully. I just can't get them to the proper level due to my safety straps. That could very well be my own anatomy's fault and not the design of this product. Still.... I'll knock off 1 star. That's only because I do feel these are excessively long. I'm currently waiting on the standard J-cups to come in the mail that I just ordered so I can do bench at a proper level. I bought them because as far as height goes, the standard ones are about half the height as the sandwich J-cups (6" tall vs. 10" tall). Also, if you look at the design of the standard ones, the backplate bends to become the hook. Look at the Sandwich J-Cups. You have the hook, but then there is a ton of metal below it..... blocking holes on your rack. So if you're looking into getting these, just be aware of that. This is ONLY with the safety strap and sandwich J-cup combination. These should be just fine if you have the pin-pipe safeties, because those don't interfere with holes above or below the one their slid into unlike the safety straps. If you have these and the Pin/pipe safeties and want to upgrade to the straps..... I'd order a pair of standard J-cups too.
